A pretty little picturesque town with pleasant views all around, lovely promenade, seafront and sunset views with a small waterfall which was absolutely mesmerising during the festival acola with live band, with excellent open air acoustics, catering to all kinds of musical tastes during end of may and onset of tourist season. There is however limited parking but the tunnel can be used as substitute parking with unmapped drive to the famous waterfall.

Stunning spot to stop - great restaurants also. Only challenge, as everywhere in Madeira, is parking. There are paid parking spots (bring cash/coins with You for it). Or if You are good at parking, there is one-way tunnel to use for it.

This beach offers the absolute best sunsets on the entire island. You'll be walking, sitting, and laying on smooth pebbles, as there's no sand, just pebbles. But, it's so worth it. There are wood walking planks throughout the beach, wood sitting areas under umbrellas, and a perfectly protected cove to swim your laps in. Superb restaurants, cafes, bars, sidewalk fruit stands, and a respectable Hotel directly across the street. Street parking is very limited, and there's a tunnel at the end of the avenue that you can park in too. This is a very special location that offers such diverse activities and a wonderful place to spend time together. Plan a day here if you're in Funchal.
