This is a great kid friendly hotel in some aspects (play room, rooms outfitted with toilet training supplies etc) but on the other hand it’s worth knowing that it borders a party area (loud on weekends), there’s some stairs within the hotel as it’s an old building, and up a steep hill from a great playground/park and waterfront. We were upgraded and had an amazing room, but some complaints, including my husband being locked out of the hotel after late work dinner/drinks, no room service one of the days, and breakfast could be better quality

Such a spectacular experience staying at the Martinhal! As it is branded, it is all about family and definitely very kids friendly and we had a great time there! The room is sunny and spacious with a welcome little fox, the restaurant is small but food is amazing! More importantly, all the staff are extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful! Highly recommended to any family!

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. This is a family-oriented hotel with amazing and helpful staff. We received a warm welcome and stayed in a 1 bedroom apartment, which was very comfortable. In addition to having a kitchen and laundry machine in the room, there was also a bottle sanitizer, baby bathtub and diaper bin, which we really appreciated. There is a play area for kids, which our 1 year old enjoyed. Great location in Chiado, within walking distance to many sights, shops and restaurants. The breakfast was also fantastic - we really enjoyed the omelettes especially. Next time we come to Lisbon, we will definitely stay here again.

This is a wonderful, practical hotel for families. They made travelling with a child and an infant seamless, having everything you need from cribs to bottle sanitizers to baby baths. The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed. The staff were very friendly and happy to help. Breakfast was decent, but the staff served with a friendly smile and made it a wonderful experience. Our son loved the kids club and Marta especially. Concierge was happy to help with everything we needed!

The only reason for not giving 5 stars is expectation for the price point and 5 star rating. The room had a few quirks like loose floor boards with nails sticking out (not fun to step on). There was no replenishing of in-room coffee so we had to go to the front desk when we'd run out. The furnishings and finishes are Ikea or similar, which is alright but not exactly 5 stars. Ikea does make good baby/kids stuff and it was all familiar. And finally amenities are fairly limited (kids club and restaurant). It would've been nice if we could've used the amenities at Martinhal Oriente. But there's no shuttle to get there and you have to buy brunch there. Advice to Martinhal: provide free access to guests staying at your other property and a way to get there with children. That might just earn you that fifth star!

The location is very central and close to everything. I saw some complaining about the hill - we had no problem navigating with a stroller. It does become slippery when wet, but so does the rest of the city! We had no problems with the noises one would expect being in the city centre.

Phenomenal Service! Martinhal definitely exceeded my expectations and I will be recommending to all my friends and family. The rooms are clean, updated and well maintained. The staff is fantastic, you can definitely tell they take pride in what they do. The location is perfect and I felt very safe during my stay!
