We have been here in 2021 and saw recently that it was permanently closed. Then we saw it might be back at a new location!? This was one of the best (food) experiences ever happened in our lives, we cried happiness over food. This secret high-end restaurant behind closed doors is such a one of a kind experience. Please invest and bring back this beautiful place!

Wow! What a magical, wonderful dining experience. It wasn’t just a dinner, it was a true experience! The restaurant’s atmosphere is gorgeous and so special. I love how the restaurant blends old and new/ traditional and contemporary. The staff and service could not be more perfect - everyone is so welcoming, kind,
and excited to share the restaurant’s dishes with you. It’s rare when you can sense that staff have a genuine enthusiasm for the food being served. Every course/dish came with a story. I also loved how various members of the kitchen, including the chef, came out to speak with you - such a unique touch!

And the food was absolutely wonderful! Get this restaurant its Michelin star ASAP! I particularly loved the first three “surprises” to come out of the kitchen and the rabbit. The bread service was also exceptional. Every dish was a work of art.

I’ll be thinking about this meal and the experience I had at O Paparico for some time to come! These type of experiences are hard to come by!

The best dining experience I’ve ever had, by far. Each dish is presented with so much forethought, explaining each ingredient and the story behind why it’s been included in their menu and its original Portuguese origins. All the staff were so friendly and had a smile at every interaction. We got the shared menu for two, which included 6 courses and 3 desserts. 2 of the courses and a dessert were added as surprises too. Each dish was small but it was plenty of food because of the variety. Be aware that because of the nature of the presentation, the meal takes a long time (we were there over 3 hours). We enjoyed the taste of all the dishes, even the ones with unconventional ingredients (to an American). Highly recommend during a visit to Porto.

I thoroughly enjoyed this dining experience. It’s a high end hidden gem in Porto… but what makes this place so unique is the unassuming exterior & the warm, friendly & homelike interior. It’s not your average fancy restaurant. You are greeted so kindly once you go in & from there you can be sure that you’re treated with the utmost sympathy from the extremely attentive staff.

We forgot to let them know in advance that I’m vegan, which at first was a problem… but that problem was quickly rectified and I had 8 mouth watering plant based courses.

The food was truly something special… and the wait staff carefully explained the themes & flavour profiles of what we ate.

The first bottle of red wine was not to my taste and without hesitation or any issue, one of the wait staff promptly brought me a different, more full bodied wine that I thoroughly enjoyed.

I will definitely be back here.

We had a tasting menu. Our complements to the staff. From the start to the end, the staff was really attentive, sometimes too much.
We liked the atmosphere, the attention to details.
But the food was really an average. It looks better than it taste. The dishes were boring, lacking sophistication, balance and creativity. The homemade bread, specially baked for us, was really poor: hard and tasteless.
The best were intermezzo and partridge. Everything else were not memorable.
Not surprisingly, they don't have a Michelin star. Sure, they’re trying to achieve it, but with the food, more effort is needed. Good luck!
