The staff is very accommodating and we appreciated the platinum member benefits. We loved suite 510, enjoyed the free minibar and the breakfast was delicious. The hotel is in a perfect location.

Some quirks:
- Once you enter the hotel, you have to walk with your bags down a staircase. There is no other way to enter the hotel. The staff is available to help carry the bags, but it's just odd.
-The African explorer theme, while fun I guess?, is puzzling for downtown Lisbon. They even make the staff wear antique-style safari guide outfits. Are we in 1930s Kenya or 2024 Portugal?
- This hotel loves its plastic water bottles. I wish they'd consider a more modern, sustainable water/beverage station in the lobby.

Rhinos, parrots, elephants...the explorers theme added an elegant touch of history to the property. I loved the stationary in the leather portfolio, the parrots on the canvas tote and the elephant in the glass cleaning cloth provided at turndown. All of these whimsical things added an unexpected sense of joy and discovery to our stay.

Everything was lovely at this property. All of the small touches added up to create a comfortable, relaxing and lush experience. Super soft sheets, thick towels, soft scents everywhere..... beautiful decor......so good.

The staff were all very friendly, helpful and professional. We received an upgrade to a superior room and it came with a little balcony and view, definitely something in short supply for most hotels in Lisbon.

It's on a quieter street which was very welcome after dealing with the bustle and noise of the busier streets in the area.

I would recommend this property, we enjoyed our stay, the only drawback was that it was only one night.

Fantastic location within a very quick walk to many attractions, but tucked away on a quiet street. Rooms were comfortable and a good size and the maintenance team was quick to fix an issue with our shower. The hotel staff was friendly throughout our stay and the Marriott Titanium benefits were quite generous (Free minibar minus champagne and vodka). Breakfast was good, but have had better at some other hotels. Overall, a nice stay and will look to come back in the future.

Fantastic hotel completely ruined by the room service. I ordered a burger for my 5 year old son and I and one of the burgers had pork in it, despite me mentioning it like 10 times that I have a pork allergy and no bacon nor pork. Literally drove me insane that I had this issue, not to mention the fact that they said it's going to be ready in 20 minutes and I waited close to an hour for it. Overall, for me that loses trust, they mentioned they would remake it for me but no way...

We were there for 8 nights, Just checked out yesterday. MUST Warn you of the strong detergent/cleaners they use because if somebody had warned us in the reviews, we would not have stayed here.

The service really was exceptional. The staff was very sweet and polite.

The restaurant/bar/breakfast felt like a walk back in time to the 1920s like a Great Gatsby movie, probably the coolest part of the hotel.

The parking is €60 a night so be prepared for that.

If you are even slightly sensitive to chemicals, then this hotel is NOT for you.

The fabric softener/chemical cleaners were so offensive that it gave me an immediate headache and my throat hurt at night when I was trying to sleep.

The towels smelled so strong of fabric detergent that it was even tough for my husband who is not as sensitive as I am.

The pillows, sheets, bathrobes reeked of synthetic chemical laden detergent.

We kept the windows opened all day and night, but still had a headache from the detergents.

I think €800 a night for these tiny rooms with no view was excessive.

Tiny bathrooms,, clogged sink, small shower that leaked out of the glass door onto the tiled floor.

I never leave negative reviews, but Marriott needs to step up on this one.
