Had a fantastic lunch experience here today. From first arriving we were looked after really well. We were seated on the little outside balcony which had a lovely view. The staff were really attentive and the lady who was front of house explained the dishes to us. We started with an aperitif then had a mix of starters - bread with pork butter and crackling, fish liver pate and fried calamari with lovely lemon mayonnaise.  We then shared a dish of hake with clams and after that shared creamy fish and shrimp rice, which was amazing and my highlight of the meal. We finished with cheesecake with caramel and pistachio and a glass of muscat.
At the end of the meal the chef/owner Ana came out for a chat.  This restaurant is listed in the Michelin guide and it should be as the food and service is first class. So pleased we went today as we had top class Portuguese food. Thank you Ana and the whole team for a wonderful lunch.

Top drawer Michelin quality food - creatively encapsulating the essence of Alentejana produce.
When I arrived to book a table I was disgracefully attired, having walked to and from Forte de Nossa Senhora da Queimada and been tossed comprehensively around by the waves for a couple of hours. The maitre de kindly welcomed me in and took my details even as I baulked at entering the restaurant...what a classy man!
We dined on delicious cheese and cured fish, fresh as fresh can be octopus salad, calamari and flavoursome bread and lard.
The orange wine reminded me of home (Chapel Down winery in Kent).
The mains of fish stew, seafood & rice and spare ribs were gorgeous and generous. Ana cooks with a real passion and attention to detail, the flavours were rich without being overbearing.
The front of house staff are enthusiastic, knowledgeable and attentive.
Loved every second, every mouthful.

Lovely setting on the terrace. Food was very good, the best I’ve had in Portugal so far.
A few improvements needed for a polished overall experience - goat cheese dish needs salt and flies on balcony need sorting, but still very good experience. Thank you

Honestly, I expected more, due to the high prices. In the end, I think the restaurant offers very bland food, in my opinion it is not worth it. In total I spent 71 euros , no drinks !

Amazing place! Chef-owner was clearly trained in Michelin Star restaurants. Genuine simple traditional cuisine but with a twist cooked to perfection! The mother of Chef is the front of house and gave us a perfect experience. Must go but… Don’t go until i get my permanent residency table there!
