A really awe inspiring hall In the middle of the Kremlin. This is where a lot of the big Soviet leadership meetings took place. The theater has many levels, is very well maintained, and houses a respectable audio system. A truly amazing experience to see a performance.

Such an amazing concert hall! It’s very beautiful inside and outside. Visited a show given by Russian Philharmonic Orchestra and invited artists. Got great pleasure. Think I will come here again.

This review is for the benefit of wheelchair users....

Purchasing a ticket needs to be mentioned because after almost 1 week of being told "everything is fine, if you are in a wheelchair you just turn up the night of the event" , I knew that was too good to be true, so I immediately tried booking a ticket through their website, but it only accepts Russian bank cards, so I then spent the next few days having to speak with 3 different people on the phone, none of which could grasp the concept that I only needed 1 ticket for me! They even implied very strongly they did not want a wheelchair user to come alone! "How will she get here? How will she know what to do? Why does she want to come?" To see Swan Lake oddly enough, anyway, they do not even have an accessible ticket office, so I bought my "companion ticket for invalids" through another website, and just showed up on that night.

For how rude the box office staff is, the theatre staff was very friendly, they are not at fault for the poor construction of the renovation of this Soviet era building. So, yes, they were nice, there is a disabled toilet, but to get to it, you need to go down 4 separate stair lifts, these are not like proper lifts or elevators, so just be prepared to wait a while to go through the process of going to the loo.

Also this type of issue just made me personally like staying where I was during intermission because it would take too long to get down and then back up to my seat.

So kindly, the staff brought me water, and I wheeled back to my seat. The interior is on a slope, so be careful, but of you made it up the hill of cobble stones after security checks, then you should be fine.

The ballet troupe was good, the orchestra however was miked so it sounded very distorted. There also were many audience members rudely recording the entirety of it on their mobiles and taking flash pictures, also many of them just talked through the entire thing which in the theatre world is shockingly bad behavior!

Amazing interpretation of Swan Lake, in an ok theatre with friendly staff, but the obstacles that could be easily fixed, and the noisy audience ruined it somewhat. Hopefully I will be lucky enough to see this at the Bolshoi, but for what it was, it wasn't horrible.

Trying to get a taxi after was a nightmare, so do wheel away from the theatre to get an Uber or whichever taxi, like so many taxis here, none wanted to take me because my wheelchair is just beyond their comprehension!

Went there for a concert of "Kraftwerk". Amazing building and a silent witness of another time in Russia. They didn't changed too much. Hard to imagine that's the same place, where the communist discuss questions during the cold war in the 80s.
