What a grand fortress. 2.5 km from Nevsky ave, it is located on an island across Neva River. I walked up to fortress from my hotel at Nevsky avenue and enjoyed the sightseeing all the way to my destiny.  You can snack on some ice cream and have beverages. There is a convergence of people every day. You can take tickets to the cathedral which costs about 500 rubles but it is worth spending. Glittering chandeliers and colourful art of the cathedral makes the whole experience exclusive. Usually, it is closed on Thursdays.

This place is highly recommended to visit. I give it a thumbs up.

Beautiful place , must to visit. you can see king & queen’s coffins inside. beautiful golden sculptures & great decoration on everywhere. may need local guide to inform a history & which coffin is? should be quiet & don’t use flash when uou take a photos.
