Situated opposite the port area in Barbate, with plenty of free parking, this is a gem of a restaurant serving exclusivelyJapanese inspired/ style food.
We were able to walk in without reserving for lunch on a Tuesday after September, but I suspect that booking is advised during the high season.
The service is efficient and the staff is knowledgeable . The food is zingyingly fresh and beautifully presented.
This restaurant has made it into the Michelin guide and with good reason, but it is not a budget option.
We live locally, so we intend to work our way through the seasonal menu.
Thank you to all the staff for a spelunch treat.

We went to this restaurant with high expectations and unfortunately, we came out quite disappointed. The food is good, but let's be honest, far from being over the top (there are plenty of sushi chefs in Europe who can boast about much higher quality). We tried several nigiri, some rolls, and a dish of tempura, which was the best of them all. Finally, while service was excellent and attentive, the prices are way too high for the offer and for the tiny portions.

Disappointing experience. We traveled to Barbate to try this highly recommended restaurant, only to find lots of dissatisfaction with service and menu options. We had the omakase and after mentioning to our waiter that the ceviche nikkei was overly sour and disproportionately seasoned, we received a “that’s ponzu sauce taste”. Certainly not what we expected to hear. Regardless, quality of raw materials is high but comparing this to top sushi restaurants is not justified particularly at the high price range. A New York Times food critic wouldn’t even bother to write a review. End of story.
