Mid-week lunch in May. We had the choice of tables either by the pool or under a tree… we opted for the tree because it was slightly cooler than the canopied pool area.
The service was excellent and the food was all delicious. It is more towards the expensive end of the scale, but by no means prohibitive. The pork ribs (with coconut snow) were cooked perfectly, as was the lamb…. And the swordfish… and the Turbot… We shared starters, the Aubergine is worth trying. Torrija for dessert has a marvellous caramelised base. The four of us agreed it was a special lunch. Recommended. Gins plus a dry, red fruit Quelais…. 250euros

We had an Absolutely delightful dinner here. It comes at a price, but expectations are met with quality of food and interesting and delicious ideas on the plate.
Notably for us, the roasted onion (cebolleta), the aubergine (berenjena), and the torrija to finish.

As a piece of constructive criticism, I would suggest getting some good quality teas and teapots for those of us who enjoy and infusion of some sort to finish an evening meal. It would suit the style and atmosphere of the restaurant more than the teabag in the cup.

But honestly, we had a fantastic evening and a beautiful experience.

We love the terrace of this restaurante right beside the swimming pool.  If you come to Agua Amarga in Almeria, this is perhaps the nicest restaurant with the best food in this village.  We love the pimiento piquillo marinated in vermouth wine.  The main course of pez espada was impressive.  What a good recommendation from the waitress! Service was excellent here!

Slightly expensive for the area... but great food, service and experience

After a few of the local Agua Amarga places, you have a taste for something local but different... and somewhat in a posh setting. This place has got it all (but slightly more expensive than the other local places). From appetizers with a Tex-Mex or Asian flair, to main dishes that include pasta with seafood, steaks (Angus Nebraska beef), to great hamburgers. Pair these dishes with the lovely (but small) selection of wines - by the bottle or glass. The place was just great (especially for romantic couples - by the pool side).
