In 1848, Duke of Montpensier, Antonio de Orleans, and his wife, Infanta María Luisa Fernanda de Borbón, settled in Seville and acquired the Palacio de San Telmo in 1850. In 1893, María Luisa, now a widow, donated this space to the city, and although no significant work took place until 1910, substantial developments were carried out between 1912 and 1922 in preparation for the Ibero-American Exposition. The wide place is filled with a variety of trees and plants, particularly subtropical species and the sound of water. This is a public park having Plaza de Espana in it and is like a botanical garden with many trees, plants and birds as well.
Park alone is worth a visit regardless of the fact that it has the magnificent Plaza de Espana.
You can enjoy a leisurely walk among the lush trees, and there are plenty of things to see throughout the park, including museums, fountains, and ponds, making it a great place to spend a good time.
