I had a disappointing experience at what is supposed to be a fine dining Michelin guide restaurant. Despite the high ratings and steep price (€90 + €45 for wine pairing), the 4+ hour dinner didn’t meet expectations.

The appetizers lacked flavor and quality:
- The beef brioche was bland.
- The cod fritter was average and unremarkable.
- The gazpacho cracker tasted store-bought.
- The orange-infused butter’s flavor was barely noticeable.
- The langoustine salad was fine, but nothing special.

A few dishes were better:
- The oyster paired nicely with the seasoning (though the Iberian jowl felt overcooked and tasted like char siu)
- The scallops, cod tripe, and red mullet were the standouts.
- The Iberian tenderloin was flavorful.

However, there were some mismatches:
- The squid with beef stew didn’t match well with the source and was quite salty
- While the duck was well-prepared, it didn’t pair well with the charred rice, which was too bitter.
- Surprisingly, none of the wines complemented the dishes well.

The dessert course also disappointed:
- There was a 30-minute wait after the main dishes, which felt excessive.
- The lemon dessert was average, and the chocolate dessert was passable.
- The petit fours were ordinary and didn’t live up to fine dining expectations.

Overall, I’d rate the food 3/5, but the slow service brought the overall experience down to 2/5. The staff was friendly, but the significant delays between courses extended the meal unnecessarily. No gestures were made to mitigate the wait, which is something you’d expect at this price point.

For the cost, it didn’t feel worth it. I have had better tasting menu at half the price

El Manzil in Sevilla was a phenomenal experience in every way—from the food to the service to the atmosphere. This is a place that truly shouldn't be missed! The attention to detail is evident in the use of locally sourced, fresh ingredients, and the personalized experience starts with a round at the bar alongside the chef, making it feel bespoke and intimate. The mural on the wall that tells the chef's story adds a beautiful touch, and the flamenco Sevillana playing while you dine enhances the atmosphere. If I had to pick a favorite dish, it would be the bacalao, tartare, and solomillo. And the chocolate dessert? Absolutely heavenly. Highly recommend for a memorable and unique dining experience!

We were really excited to come after reading the positive reviews, but we were quite disappointed. Most courses were way too salty, and the portions of some courses were not quite balanced. In addition, we had to wait more than half an hour between several courses. The desserts were tasty, but we were too tired to enjoy them since it was past 11pm at that point. Finally, the server often felt condescending and made unwelcoming expressions when we asked for additional tea. In our opinion, this restaurant is far from earning a Michelin star.

Extraordinary gastronomic experience. I would highly recommend, also with the wine pairing to discover the regional wines.
The food is delicious and carefully prepared. All dishes are full of flavors and contrasts that align perfectly. We took the short menu because we were not very hungry, but would definitely go back to taste the longer version.
Service was kind. They also provided with great insight on the regional wines.

A great experience at a very good price point for the quality.

The tasting menu was excellent quality, varied and beautifully presented. It is clear that a lot of pride is taken in the creation of the dishes and the menu.

The atmosphere and the aesthetic of the restaurant are also great; upmarket and sophisticated, but still retaining a relaxed and comfortable setting which is often not a balance found in fine dining restaurants.

Finally, the service was outstanding. The staff were attentive and immediately made us feel comfortable and welcome. The attention to detail throughout was amazing, and again it was clear to see the pride they take in their work. This kind of service really does elevate the experience, and I would highly recommend the restaurant.
