Disfrutamos del menú largo en El Asador de Abel, y fue una experiencia muy agradable. La calidad y el sabor de los platos fueron excelentes en su mayoría, con productos bien elaborados y presentados con mimo.

Destaco especialmente el ambiente acogedor del lugar, perfecto para una comida especial. La mayoría de los platos nos sorprendieron gratamente, sobre todo el Pixín que estaba de muerte. Personalmente los callos y el postre de tarta de chocolate no estuvieron a la altura del resto del menú para nuestro gusto.

Sin embargo, la experiencia en conjunto fue fantástica, y salimos muy satisfechos. Sin duda, es un lugar al que volveríamos por su excelente servicio y la calidad de su propuesta gastronómica.

We enjoyed the long menu at El Asador de Abel, and it was a very pleasant experience. The quality and flavor of the dishes were mostly excellent, with products well prepared and presented with care.

I especially highlight the cozy atmosphere of the place, perfect for a special meal. Most of the dishes pleasantly surprised us, especially the Pixín, which was to die for. Personally, the tripe and chocolate cake dessert were not up to par with the rest of the menu for our taste.

However, the overall experience was fantastic, and we left very satisfied. Without a doubt, it is a place to which we would return due to its excellent service and the quality of its gastronomic proposal.

An extraordinary experience. The truth is that Javier Farpon does not disappoint. We were already customers of his previous restaurant.
The attention of the staff from the moment you enter the premises is familiar, friendly and, above all, very professional.

The confit and fried torrezno with roasted lemon is very good.
We tried the Cod Omelette with its Pil-pil and Piparra and it was a dish that we really liked.
We ordered a kilo and a half Friesian breed steak 20/30 days, and it was spectacular.

A unos 20 kilómetros de Gijón, en un lugar con un nombre tan pintoresco como "la revuelta el coche", llamado así, porque en sus orígenes fue un mesón caminero donde los coches, primero de caballos y luego de gasolina, iban, paraban y volvían por donde vinieron, se encuentra @elasadordeabelcasafarpon

¿Pero por qué de Abel, si Abel se jubiló y ahora oficia aquí el Chef Javi Farpón? Pues por respeto al hostelero que le entregó el testigo del restaurante tras 24 años en sus fogones.

Estos chascarrillos nos hablan de historia y tradición, que es precisamente lo que se respira tras traspasar las puertas de este Mesón.
.
Aquí encontraréis guisos asturianos y una parrilla, a la vista del comensal, de donde salen carnes de calidad y frescos pescados, cocinados lo justo para no estropearlos.
.
Lo ideal es empezar pidiendo que Juan Luis @sumillermurcia te prepare un aperitivo, un negroni o un bloody mary, y para acompañar un plato repleto de sus fabulosas croquetas de jamón, suaves, con una fritura perfecta y una bechamel que te hará salivar, o unos jugosos torreznos.

La tortilla de bacalao con su pil-pil también es imprescindible, así como su fabada asturiana, de la que se puede pedir un cuenquito, para no llenarse demasiado. Otro plato mundial es el roast-beef, acompañado del mejor parmentier que recuerde haber probado.

Terminamos con dos chuletas a la brasa con diferente maduración, de 30 y 60 días, para intentar apreciar las diferencias. Curiosamente triunfó la menos madurada, más sabrosa y jugosa que la otra.
.
Y de postre no puede faltar el mantecado "Anglirú" flambeado al momento, la versión astur del suflé Alaska. Magnífico.

En el apartado líquido, hay que ponerse en manos de @sumillermurcia quien nos dió toda una lección de vinos asturianos, empezando por una sidra achampanada fantástica, y continuando con varios vinos de Cangas de pequeño productor, que nos dejaron locos.

Un mesón acogedor con una cocina que sublima el producto y una bodega  fuera de serie: un restaurantazo. Si viajan a Gijón, no se lo pierdan.
