We were very disappointed by this hotel. It does not offer the services or facilities for what you would expect for a 5 star at 900 euro per night.

The room and terrace are very large with beautiful views. However, the spa is disappointing, because the facilities are very limited. It is basically a pool with jets, and most of them don't work. Also we tried to have lunch in the restaurant and it was sold out of most things and the waitress was therefore reluctant to serve us, so instead we tried to reserve for dinner, but there was no space left and the Michelin star restaurant was closed. The hotel did not seem to be at full capacity, just the services were limited and maybe the dining reservations were given to people external to staying in the hotel. There was no priority for guests. We tried to reserve a visit to the bodega, also not available.

The breakfast was very basic! We have enjoyed far better breakfasts at 3 stay hotels. Breakfast consisted of basic pastries, orange juice, one type of white baguette bread, small ham & cheese selection, and an option of two basic egg dishes.

I recommend you keep driving, and look for an alternative hotel!!

One of the best winery tour in my experience.  Chose the Spanish version to improve my language skill.  The Frank Ghery designed hotel kicks off the tour.  It's nice.  We have a Frank in Chicago and I've seen the Guggenheim and the Bilbao.  They're all nice.  Thank you, frank.  The highlight is the Bodega.  And the tasting.  We sipped excellent wine and to be expected.  They're not gonna give you a tour then have you taste mediocre wine.  Overall, worth the 25 euros.

Our tour group’s private dining experience at Hotel Marqués de Riscal was an absolute highlight of my trip. The ambience of this stunning hotel, designed by Frank Gehry, is nothing short of breathtaking. But the food—wow! Every dish was meticulously crafted, from the terrine of goat cheese with sesame crust to the tender glazed beef cheeks. The menu effortlessly blended traditional Spanish flavors with modern culinary techniques. The service was top-notch, and the wine pairings (all from Marqués de Riscal, of course) were perfect. If you’re looking for an unforgettable gastronomic experience in a truly unique setting, this is the place to be!

Amazing hotel. Takes some time to realize how beautiful it is located between the wine ranks, the stunning views! Rooms are ok - everything is pretty dated. Staff very helpful!
Sad thing: too many Americans in the hotel. Shouting. Disrespectful behavior in the spa. It is a spa!! No bragging zone! (Everywhere they are)

Attended a wedding here and the coordinator Ana was amazing. She was so helpful! Wedding had four different locations and each place had its own little charm.  Hotel does help you coordinate a ride to Bilboa airport and maybe other cities but it's about 250 dollars each way. It's well guarded and you can't just go in, though I thought some of the workers were not as friendly but I think that's more of a culture thing and they are more serious. I will say once you see it once you don't need to go back, but pretty unique place.
