We spent a week at this beautiful hotel in Gran Canaria, really close to the Dunes in Maspalomas.

The hotel is spotless, and if you ask me, the cleaning ladies are doing their job too well. They will knock on your door frequently to see if you want your room cleaned more than once. It’s a bit too much.

The food was plenty and with lots of choices, plus new dishes every day. That was great.

Now, I didn’t give it 5 stars because of the atmosphere. Indeed, the average age of people going to this hotel is around 60. So you do feel a bit strange surrounded only by people over this age. But what’s even stranger is the show the waiters put for the ones who give them lots of tips or keep on coming back. It makes you feel a bit out of place, and I didn’t expect that from a 5* hotel. And you can feel the difference in their behavior with the rest of the people. Also, remember, this is a 5 star hotel and the prices are accordingly.

When we grew tired of their ‘show’, we decided to rent a car for 2 days and visited the island, which we highly recommend. If we ever come back here, we will definitely stay in a different part of the island.

The staff is friendly, and the hotel is clean. Initially, they mistakenly placed us in a double room, but they quickly and efficiently corrected it, moving us to the king-sized room we had booked. Unfortunately, we could only reserve a half-board option, and the buffet had very limited vegetarian choices—almost nothing for vegetarians.
The air conditioning in the gym is not functioning.
Additionally, I had a poor customer experience at this hotel. Before booking, I reached out multiple times to customer service to inquire about using the piano in one of the bars. As a professional pianist, it’s important for me to practice during my holidays. However, I never received a response.

Despite this, we decided to stay at the hotel, hoping they would allow me to use the piano during quiet hours, even for just one hour. Unfortunately, the receptionist refused. It seems the hotel is too large, with too many guests, and they don’t prioritize customer service or offer a personal touch.

After having been there for the last time 22 years ago (3 times from 1999 to 2002), it was really interesting to see how the renovation could have changed the hotel.

But from something that was already great at the time, they have made an even more beautiful, luxurious and stylish resort.

In addition, a special mention for the outstanding service of the staff.
You are really pampered and you are completely central as a guest.
What a great holiday feeling...
The approach to children is also phenomenal.
In that regard, special thanks to Manolo and Martin.
You were great for us and our daughter.
You both deserve a statue.
I hope you will be informed of this mention because you deserve this.
But in fact, everyone from start to finish deserves a mention for their super work in this whole holiday experience.

The hygiene is also downright fantastic for a hotel of this size. Public toilets are cleaned several times a day. Beds are moved so that they can mop even the smallest corners. Towards the evening, bathroom towels can be changed again if desired. Pool towels can be changed daily. The lounge cushions are checked for cleanliness. And so on...

It is also super pleasant to walk on the promenade that can be reached via a direct (and secured) entrance.
Many nice shops and cozy terraces.

And last but not least is the fantastic buffet.
Nowhere else have I experienced a buffet of this quality, freshness, originality and daily variety.
The chefs are also always willing to make a personal version of a dish if you ask them nicely.

If you want to experience a wonderful holiday full of luxury, service, pampering, good food, relaxation, ... this is really the place to be.

And oh... Don't forget to be as nice to everybody of these employees as they are for you. Because 1. They really deserve it for their daily effort to give you an extraordinary holiday experience and 2. You won't regret their gratitude in return.

Maybe one little tip:
Make the indoor restaurant feeling a bit more lounge style like the athmosphere and coziness was before the renovation.
Changing the LED lights and stained glass lights in the ceiling to warm white would already be a big difference.
But honestly, we never sat inside because the huge and beautiful terrace is wonderful so there was no need to sit inside.

Returned for a weeks holiday last visited in Oct 23. Standards are slipping slightly.  Staff all still amazing and helpful. The rooms look a bit tired marks and scuffs on paintwork. Previously had a nice gift in bathroom of shower cap comb cotton wool etc this has now been removed sadly. Food was very hit and miss they do not seem to replenish as often as they use to and quality has drop especially with the meat. We have visit all in all around 10 + times before and this is the 1st time we came away feeling a bit let down. Entertainment is poor and same most nights. Cannot fault Martin as usual very friendly and attentive. Cleanliness top notch house keeping great .

Wonderful place,ideal location with roomy bright rooms. Great Seaview. Amazing selection of foods and drinks. The lobby is a great place to sit and people watch with a coffee and a cake.
