Beautiful location with a great selections of wines. The staff was very helpful and answered the many questions I had. We did not get to enjoy their food pairings and will return in the future. Thank you for the wonderful time!

Bueno, uno entra, y parece todo muy atractivo - ambiente moderno, carta de vinos variada, un hombre de media edad en el bar que se inclina la nariz pensadamente en una copa Bordeaux... pero, gente, las cosas no siempre son como parecen. Primero, el lugar está caliente, digamos entre 25 y 30 grados. La música - algo fúnebre de Cat Power, de hecho todo un concierto en vivo de sus temas más deprimentes. Al principio nos dijo el mozo que no tenía el vino tinto que queríamos. Después descubrió una botella, la última. Nos trajo las copas de vino. El tinto estaba más frío que el blanco. Sí, lamento decirlo, pero tenía la temperatura de una heladera normal, entre 0 y 5 grados. Salieron lagrimas de condensación por el destino maldito del vinito. Se lo comentamos al mozo. Al principio insistió que era la temperatura correcta. Así no, gente. Nos ofreció otro vino tinto, pero nos avisó que tenía la misma temperatura. Mientras tanto, vimos a otro mozo ajustando la temperatura de la heladera detrás de la barra. En fin... Pedimos pan con manteca de oveja, y vinieron dos trozos pequeños de pan tostado con suficiente manteca para seis. Un poco ridículo. La longaniza, mejor. Nos gustó. Mirando las mesas alrededor de la nuestra, vi copas de varias formas que no parecen corresponder a los vinos que tienen adentro. Un detalle, pero supuestamente era un bar de conocedores. Media hora después, gracias irónicamente al calor que hacía al interior del bar, se podía tomar el tinto. Pero ya habíamos comido las tapas, y, con la música y el calor, decidimos irnos en vez de consumir el resto del vino. Una pena. Pedimos la cuenta, y nos cobraron por cuatro copas en vez de dos. Se lo señalamos al mozo, y lo cambió. Se habían equivocado. Nosotros también.

Best wine bar in Barcelona! They have super rare bottles that will make the biggest wino drool with moderate prices that won't break the bank. They have an amazing cellar filled to the brim with tons of fantastic bottles. Their prix fixe lunch special is one of the best deals you can get in Barcelona at a fancy restaurant, but the regular menu tapas are actually much better. Their cheeses and charcuterie selections are unique and portions are generous. Very friendly and accommodating staff. Ambiance feels very much like a swanky hotel restaurant. Clean and modern decor. Highly recommend.

Monvinic not only has a sublime selection of Spanish wines, but brilliant choices from around the wine world. I would say this is within the top two or three of the three or four hundred winebars I've indulged in around the world. Another estimable BCN winebar is Vinya del Senyor. However it doesn't quite have the worldly selection of Monvinic. Both are treasures.

I couldn't understand giving less than five stars for this one. Six out of five would be even better, since the quality, service and the whole experience is otherworldly, and I don't know if my words will make it the justice it deserves. But let me try at least. The first time I tried Monvinic was a few years ago thanks to a friend that is a somelier (he knows a lot about wine!!). Since I'm quite into wine myself, I decided to give it a try. We developed a formula there: since there you will find a lot of different wines, I asked the waiter if he could possibly guide us through the experience. He agreed happily, and proceeded to bring over glasses of wines that he personally considered great choices. I was BLOWN AWAY: it was like a menu but with wine. We opened the night with some great cava, to continue with a few glasses of different types of white wine. I remember some germans, some from New Zeland, and every one was presented by the waiter with a well exposed explanation on how it is made, where, what the conditions are in those places that make the wine taste as it does. It was as if getting the enhanced experience: you could travel the world and feel different places in your mouth, all with a detailed explanation. After the white wine comes the red wine, and along with the desert you can try some "Jerez" wines (sweet wines from south Spain), or this red jewel that I tried yesterday that tasted like berries poured into my glass, I was just delighted and moved. But you can also try some "tapas", delicate little dishes with all sorts of imaginative food in intrincate compositions. It was really amazing, you can see the pictures that we took last night: all sorts of catalan products that are delivered by well selected producers. The mushrooms were delicious, the fish tartar was astonishingly good. This is a place where I go at least once a year, this place will charge more than a normal restaurant, but your mouth will be having the day of its life that day. I spent around 100€ for two people, and I consider it cheap for what we got. Honestly: you can't miss this place if you like wine!!

Great service from a passionate team who will happily take you through the extensive wine list, make suggestions of what to eat and also send you home with a list of places to visit while in Barcelona. This was my first stop when I arrived and based on their recommendations I discovered so many more great food and wine spots in Barcelona that I would have missed otherwise. Stop in for a glass of cava before a night out, a cheese platter and wine flight after a dinner, or come and spend the entire evening eating dinner here. The bar area is great for solo diners.

Monvínic has an incredibly curated selection of global wines, and it is a great way to try varietals across many regions. My partner and I experienced the wine bar on a Tuesday night, and I am told they have a great dinner selection as well. Upon arrival the host will sit you down with a tablet, and their proprietary app will guide you through your personalized tasting journey. You can filter through regions, grapes, price point, etc., and you can self-select your next glass. We found the app to be rather buggy, but it is a great concept. We were hoping to have more of a curated experience where we could experience Spanish wines and identify which regions are our most preferred. If we had more of a personal experience or could choose specific flights, I would give this 5-stars! I look forward to returning during my next trip to Barcelona!

Mind blown with the wine. I asked them to recommend a Spanish wine and said something like "when in Spain." The sommelier kindly pointed out that if I wanted to be true to the region then I should actually get a Catalonian wine. I agreed and he gave us the most fantastic Prioriat. Fell in love with the style. The food was also very good, though two weeks later I'm having a hard time remembering exactly what we had beyond the lamb. But I remember enjoying it while we were eating.
