I was recommended to try this restaurant. I am glad that I went a little out of my way to stop here for lunch. There were several options on the menu and I chose the soup/quiche option. The soup of the day was the gaspatxo de sundria. As it was in the mid-80s F, cold soup was ideal. The quiche of the day was de carbasso i manxes. I haven't had quiche at a non-French restaurant before, but it was as delicious as I expected it to me. I was about to ask for the check when I noticed a chocolate cake near the entrance. It turned out to be a chocolate/peanut butter cake and reminded me of my favorite childhood candy, a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup. Both of the waitresses were very helpful. Their fluency of English was better than my Spanish.

3.5 really... but it's much better than a lot of my 3star rated places, so i'm rounding up to 4. A cute little cafe/restaurant - nice salads and healthy ingredients... Perhaps we came on an "off" day - it happens... but there's potential for greatness here. The soup was under-seasoned, and came out cold (we each sent ours back to get reheated)... and the salad was way too salty. I did like how it was more than just iceberg lettuce. The spring roll was also overly salty - but i liked the flavors. Ambiance - 5 stars Service - friendly but as typical here, rather slow - 5 stars food - has potential, but not great today... the menu has a nice variety though. 3 stars free wifi - ask for the code there's an art gallery downstairs, though at the time of my visit, it was between exhibits.

We were actually looking for another restaurant, but after walking for ages we gave up and stumbled across Taranna. We were drawn in by the vibe of the restaurant and could see that there were many locals there and wanted a good authentic meal. It can be communal style, so be comfortable sharing a table with strangers! We ordered quite a few things: - Salmon ceviche - Chicken wings (teriyaki-ish seasoning?) - Figs with goat cheese - Potatoes with herbs And I do think there were a few other items, but I can't recall what they were. Regardless, all the ingredients tasted fresh and I really, really enjoyed the meal. Good vibes and good memories here!

Cute cafe with lovely decor and music. Sadly, though, just because the staff LOOK like they come from a hipster cafe in Melbourne or Portland it doesn't mean their coffee tastes like it does. With loads of pre-ground coffee in the hopper and milk poured from a jug that presumably was steamed long before I even ordered (I was watching the barista after I orderd), my coffee was woeful.

One of my favorite cafés in Barcelona. Veggie friendly and have a superb Cava & beer selection. Menu changes daily, but you can always count on something mouth watering & diverse.

This is a very nice bar in the close to Plaça Universitat and El Raval. There are good tapases and wines, but there isn't Patatas bravas. :-( I like patatas bravas in Barcelona. :-)

The food looks very nice and the description of the different things doesn't sound too bad but honestly... none of us (party of 5) was very happy with the taste. Two of us gave it another try 2 months later with the same result. This place looks nice but I wouldn't go there again.

I'm rather surprised by the previous reviews and think that perhaps Taranna has come into its own a little bit since they were written. After a great afternoon at the Joan Miro foundation I walked down the hill into Poble Sec and happened into this great spot. I had the soup of the day and a bocadillo de fuet on a great, grainy baguette and enjoyed both of them thoroughly. I found the soup to be refreshing and yummy; creamy, minty and with perfect pepper and salt. Beyond the food I think the atmosphere is great; happy people, friendly staff and neat enough decor. While I didn't try them the cakes looked great and there were several happy customers munching away. A solid cafe!

Underrated! One of the best spots around for brunch/lunch. The quiche alone is worth a visit. For dinner, ask for off menu beer. The staff are very cool and helpful.

Adorable indie cafe with wifi and great coffee! Good place to study! There is a basement section, as well, with plugs. Good music and good vibes. :-)
