I recently stayed at Sercotel in Barcelona and had a mixed experience overall.

Positive Aspects:
# The restaurant was excellent, with great food and a welcoming atmosphere.
# The breakfast was quite good, offering a decent variety of options.
# The WiFi connection was acceptable—not perfect, but sufficient for basic browsing.
# The bathroom met expectations, with everything functioning as expected.

Areas for Improvement:
# The room floor was in very poor condition, almost destroyed, which significantly impacted the overall impression of the room.
# Booking modification experience: While I was able to adjust my reservation to new conditions, the process was frustrating. During check-out, I had to pay additional charges that were not clearly communicated upfront, leading to a disagreement with the reception staff. The handling of this situation could have been much more transparent and customer-friendly.

Overall, while some aspects of my stay were enjoyable, the issues with the room condition and booking modification process left a less-than-ideal impression. Improvements in communication and room maintenance would make for a much better guest experience.

Easy checkin, warm & welcoming people.
Room size was good, rooms had all amenities. Very clean and spacious.
Great location - 2 mins walk to Sargada Familia.
Good connectivity
Great roof top bar, and loved the hospitality.

The view of the Sagrada Familia from the rooftop bar or right from your room is what makes this hotel stand out from the rest. The rooms are clean and modern, although a little on the small side. No issues for a solo traveller though. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is actually quite good.

Our trip to Barcelona was the best, just one snag, in which we only stayed one night because it was horrible. First off, a friendly warning, the rating is based on the rooftop restaurant NOT THE HOTEL. That said, the main reason we left is because the AC IS CONTROLLED BY THE BUILDING 32C THATS 83F, we could not sleep. Second rusted towel bar and 3rd leaking roof but the AC topped it off.

Terrible hotel. Dirty rooms, the fan in the bathroom doesn't work.. I called for slippers because they hadn't been put in. If you are a tourist in Spain and specifically in Barcelona - your days will be difficult because the hotel workers don't know English, you have to use sign language. Breakfast - TERRIBLE, UNIFORM AND ALMOST NO CHOICE.. Every morning I found unwashed glasses, forks and spoons on the tables, which were served as "washed". I tried to explain to the worker, but she didn't know English.. As guests of the hotel, we had free access to the top floor. I won't explain that we had a pretty bad attitude from the staff, who told me that smoking was not allowed in front, but after 10-20 minutes some Spaniard was smoking and no one made a remark to him.. I do not recommend this hotel!
