We loved this place and can highly recomend it. It is a really beautiful apartment located in a perfect part of Barcelona. The bedrooms are nice and where we stayed it was really quiet. Marcelo is a very nice host as well!     The breakfast was a Little light but as we could use the fridge in the kitchen it was no problem at all.

A perfect location in the El Born barrio. I was lucky enough to have the balcony room at the front, with its own shower and WC. The room was very comfortable and well equipped, including hairdryer. The room may suffer from noise from the street below on hot nights if the windows need to be open, but this was not a problem in early spring. There are quieter rooms at the back for those who prefer, but then you miss the vitality of the street below. There was a good, more than adequate, continental breakfast served at a communal table. There is also a useful "honesty bar" in the kitchen for those wanting a drink. Marcelo and Olivier are charming, friendly very helpful hosts, who will meet you on arrival and are around at breakfast time to chat and offer help and advice, including booking tickets on-line etc. They speak excellent English and French. Previous reviews and the website convinced me that this would be something good and I was not disappointed. I would highly recommend it for those who prefer not to stay in a bigger hotel.

Marcelo is a gracious host and his staff are professional and friendly. This little Casita is comfortable, scrupulously clean, quiet, and well-run. Marcelo is very organized and pays attention to every detail. This was our first stay in Barcelona, and he had excellent advice about sights, restaurants, etc. I traveled with my teenage daughter and it was perfect for us. It may not be best for families with very small chikdren because of the quietness of the hotel. The shared kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked, and very clean. Other guests seem to respect that and keep things tidy. The breakfast is beautifully laid and delicious. The refrigerator is stocked with drinks that guests can buy, or they can store their own food and drink. Other guests are friendly, and it was not a problem at all sharing a bathroom.  We had room 2, an interior room with one small window, but even without AC, it was comfortable in August. I hope to return someday. I will definitely send my friends here. Thank you, Marcelo!

We stayed 3 nights at Casa Marcelo Barcelona.  We loved the place.  The location is perfect.  We were greeted and oriented to Barcelona navigation from the B&B on arrival. The room was clean with comfortable bed.  There was mild city noise in background by day, but it was very quiet at night. The breakfast was very nice.  We loved the place.  We will stay there again the next time we are in Barcelona!

what can I say!  This is the ONLY place to stay in Barcelona.  It is in a very hip area, perfectly located for wandering around the ancient streets.  It is an impeccably decorated and finely maintained apartment.  Marcelo and Olivier are the most attentive hosts, offering help with your bags, maps of the city, and recommendations and advice about going anywhere you wish around town. In the mornings you are served a wonderful breakfast while you meet fellow travelers around the table.  I really felt like I was staying with friends! They helped us with so much, I felt so taken care of. I felt relief from all the figuring out and navigating I had been doing, because they warmly offered us what we needed before we even knew what we needed.  Much love at casa marcelo!
