I have been staying with my wife in here for 7 days. It is the most hospitable stay among our travel around the world. The staff  could not be more professional and responsive, especially when you haven't opened your mouth, they had already known and offered their help spontiouniorsly.
It is not only the location surrounded with all small romantic and delicious  restaurant, just within few minutes reach, but also I feel the sensational human touch from the staff of the "El Balcon del Born".
To say they are professional is a bit kind of formal business thing, I would like to say they offer us is excellent personal touch. Finally I would like to appreciate,  especially Anna and Tom of their warm service to us.  Anna, her unconcealed warm heart is the more precious gift that you will treasure. Her presence brighten up the guests around her., everybody  was very happy and ease with her charming and smiling face.
The staffs here are elegant, pretty, young and cheerful,  it always gives me a deceptive illusion that I were one of them too.

Don't bother, trying to stay here is a potential BIG disappointment.
I cannot even review our stay because our reservation was cancelled at the last minute.
We arrived in Barcelona mid-afternoon and were excited to get settled and start exploring since we didn't have much time in Barcelona. First it was really difficult to find the building because it was unmarked. After getting assistance from storekeepers we tried to ring Balcon del Born but got no response. Eventually I got through on a telephone number posted online to which Pablo was surprised I had a reservation, he obviously was not expecting us and no one was at the property to let us in. He asked that I send my email confirmation since he obviously did not believe we had a reservation. 45 minutes later Pablo called back to say our reservation had been cancelled because of roof problems and that they had left multiple messages on my phone throughout the day. All a LIE!!! I had my phone on me the entire time, not a single call or message. Also, where was the roof explanation when I first called to gain access?! By now it is getting into evening and our family of four has no place to stay so I asked Pablo if he has another location for us. Again he says he'll call back. About half hour later he calls and says his friend has a place that is more expensive but that he'll honor our price. Another BIG LIE from Pablo. After meeting Pablo's friend it becomes clear the place he proposes is his friend's apartment which she will still be in while we are there. How can the private Balcon del Born that also includes breakfast be less expensive than a couple beds in a shared living space. Pablo is a big liar and I don't suggest potentially ruining your stay in Barcelona with his unreliability.

I booked and absolutely loved my stay here! only wish I could have extended my stay.

Although the b&b is located beside a busy squear, it's max 30mins walk, north, to where the tour buses meet for tours to Deli Musuem etc, and south, to the very end of the beach front. The Church of St. Maria del Mar and Picaso Musem is literarily right around the corner. You can have lunch in the market everyday if you want to, because it's that close!
The convenience of being close to everything does come with a price, as some of the best resturants and bars are literarily right downstairs and ususaly they're packed with people well into the night. So if you want completely and absolutely quiet sleep, then this place is not for you. For me, love to walk to places, so by the end of the day, I was so tired that I just fall into sleep anyway.

I stay in room 8 on the third floor, so it's more quiet in comparison, but trying to sleep in the mid of te afternoon is difficult - I had a bit jetlag the first couple of days. I arrived early in the morning but the early checkin time is at 9am since people are still sleeping before that. So Roberto recommanded a place for breakfast near by. After my breakfast, I couldn't find the address of the place in my phone, and no one I asked knows what I'm looking for (since I don't speak Spainish at all), but Pablo was so nice to come get me.

The breakfast is between 9-11. It has all kinds of selection for a B&B. The dining room has a little balcony, and usually they play a bit light music too. It's hands down the best B&B in the area!

El Balcon del born is in a great location near the beach, the harbour, Las Ramblas, the cathedral,... The staff is very friendly and showed us in the map the best places to visit and good restaurants to eat. I shall recommend it to everybody.

I can´t recommend this guesthouse enough.It was brilliant from start to end. The staff is so friendly and roberto was wonderful. We arrived earlier than checkin and as some rooms were ready, we were given them inmediately. Very reasonable price, really happy.
