Upon checking our luggage in on Sunday, March 30th, we were made to feel very unwelcome. The desk attendant was very rude to the point where we almost asked for refunds to go look for a place elsewhere. When we returned, to check into our actual room at 3pm, we witnessed another guest very upset with him so it appeared to be a trend. Once he finished his fight with the customer and started helping locate our luggage, he had changed his tone quite a bit.

The rest of the front desk staff seemed ok and friendly.

The rooms are most definitely dated and the mattresses are EXTRA firm to the point where I could feel one of the springs. For the price of the room, I expected more of high quality mattress, linens and down alternative pillows at a minimum.

The location of the hotel is really just the only thing it has going for it. Love the walkability factor!!

Fantastic location in a lovely old building that's modernized inside. Good facilities and friendly staff. Stayed in a premium room, which was very nice, good size and two separate balconies which were very pretty - although the mattress was rock hard and uncomfortable. I asked for a mattress topper, but none was provided so I assume they don't have them. Toilet seat was broken, but fixed promptly when I reported it. Definitely avoid the breakfast. It was shockingly bad. A lot of food laid out in a buffet, but it didn't seem like any of the food was freshly cooked. I'm sorry I paid extra for it. Much better to eat in the many restaurants nearby. Would stay again at the right price.

I will take a moment to share my experience at Axel hotel , I will say thank you so much guys for the amazing hospitality, the staff were so friendly, and very helpful, the service was excellent I can’t complain.

Love the spa and the gym as well great area to relax .

The room was super clean everything was in order, the cleaning service were every day there , the room smells great, clean toilet clean shower .

The location was fantastic, you can walk and discover the area, you have many restaurants close by and bars to spend a nice evenings .

I had unfortunately a bad experience in my first arrival at the hotel, my bag get stolen, but I get an amazing support from the team and specially from the manager, which I will say thank you for the help.

I will definitely come back as soon as possible and book this hotel again .

Booking didn't ask for my review but I have some thoughts:
- the spa was closed, which is one of the main reasons I was there for. The reception told us they would offer a massage as a form of compensation, but we had to buy 1 first to get another for free. So this means that they're trying to compensate the guests by making even more profit. crazy.
- the jacuzzi in the rooftop should have been heated to compensate
- They charged us for city tax upon arrival 6,25 per night, which is the highest amount, but according to the internet, a 4 star hotel should charge slightly less than that
- anyway, the location is great and the view was great, as well as the bar. The room was cool but I might not be back

The hotel is in a good location and the staff is really nice. The room is clean and big, with amazing views. The bed is massive and super comfortable. The bathroom is also big and the shower is good.

We really loved it!
