Our stay at Mercer House Boria in Barcelona was great. Checking in and out was easy. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. The housekeeping was perfect and we loved our room. Some people mentioned this location in the middle of a lively neighborhood being loud at night but we didn’t feel that way. We were up late every night anyway and slept very well. This location was very convenient for walking and exploring nearby and the metro and buses were very easy to reach, which we used as well. We were greeted every day by staff and they always smiled. Would love to stay here again on our next trip.

Front desk is very friendly and helpful. However the room and service are not great, not matching the expectations of $500 per night hotel. It’s more like an airbnb not hotel. It’s very hard to find and taxi driver dropped us nearby being unable to find it. The elevator is TINY and super slow. The rooms are very dark. The closet door does not close properly.

But the real dealbreaker is the sewage smell in and outside of the room. It smells so bad that we’re having hard time to sleep. The A/C sucks too, takes forever to warm up the room and then it’ll become overly warm before we realize and turn down the temperature.

I’m genuinely surprised by any negative reviews of this place. I stayed here in January with my husband and our two young daughters, and our experience was overwhelmingly positive. While we initially had a bit of trouble finding the entrance—only to realize we were standing right in front of it—a quick call to the hotel resolved the issue, and everything from that point on exceeded our expectations.

This was my first time staying at a boutique aparthotel, and I was thoroughly impressed. The rooms were immaculate, beautifully designed, and well-equipped with all the essentials in the kitchenette. Compared to traditional 4- or 5-star hotels, this stay was far superior. The spacious layout included a separate room for the kids, a comfortable living area attached to the master suite, and bright, spotless bathrooms.

The lighting and décor perfectly complemented the Gothic Quarter’s charm, and the location itself was unbeatable. We were within walking distance of fantastic bakeries, restaurants, and convenience stores. Major attractions like Las Ramblas were just a short stroll away, making it easy to explore the lively and vibrant neighborhood.

The highlight of our stay, however, was the exceptional service. The front desk staff were incredibly courteous, friendly, and attentive. They made my daughters feel special by offering them treats and went above and beyond by offering to store our luggage while we took a two-day trip to Italy.

As someone who is very particular about accommodations, I can confidently say I would recommend this place 100% and would love to stay here again. It truly felt like a home away from home.

My group and I just had the most amazing stay at the Mercer House Bòria.  This is a boutique style hotel right in the Gothic quarter.  The staff was incredible! They went out of their way to take care of me and my group while we explored Barcelona, offering advice and how to get reservations.  Honestly, their service makes the trip worth it alone.  The rooms were spacious and incredibly clean (very important for me to feel comfortable).  The dining area for breakfast was cozy and casual.  We had an early morning and the staff put out stuff for us early so we could enjoy before we went to explore the coast.  My only complaint was I had to leave! Thank you to entire staff for giving our group such a memorable experience!

The hotel staff was so wonderful and helpful. Our hotel suite was very spacious for a family of five and feels like a small apartment. The location was close enough to walk around and enjoy the city.  We recommended the rest of our large travel party to stay here as well and they took good care of us.
