An excellent location with so many city sights within walking distance and close to the park El Retiro. Nice quiet room which will benefit from the planned refresh later this year. Staff particularly Ilia were very helpful with the recommendations for restaurants with very good local dishes and also obtaining reservations. Would definitely stay there again.

Six years ago, my family and I decided to stay in Hospes Puerta de Alcalá, never knowing that this would become such a special part of our lives. Since that first visit, no other hotel has ever been an option for us. This is so much more than a place to lay your head; it's a home, truly made by the exceptional care and professionalism of Ilia and Fernando.

Ilia and Fernando manage to make each guest feel really special; their warmth and attention to details, along with their passion for hospitality, can turn a beautiful hotel into a memorable one. From the most genuine welcome to thoughtful recommendations of their constant acts of kindness, they manage to make any stay special.

Since then, we have returned so many times because of Ilia and Fernando. Their hospitality built a relation that seemed more like family than staff and guest.

If you’re searching for a hotel that feels like home, Hospes Puerta de Alcalá is the one. Thank you, Ilia and Fernando, for always making our stays so memorable we’re already looking forward to next year!

My husband and I had a wonderful time at Hospes Puerta de Alcalá during out stay in Madrid. The staff couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming! They took note of my note of our specific preferences and ensured they were accommodated during our stay. They also helped with dinner reservations in the weeks leading up to the trip. The hotel room was beautiful. We walked to many of the city's attractions directly from the hotel and also loved its proximity to Parque de El Retiro.

Specific thank you to Juan who welcomed us when we were extremely jet lagged, was patient while I practiced my Spanish,  and helped us both make and cancel reservations.

Wonderful hotel in the center of town. From start to finish the front desk staff was amazing! Welcoming every time we came in and no request was too big or small. I can’t say enough about how good every staff member was behind the front desk.
Housekeeping was also perfect. Twice a day they made up the rooms and were always accommodating with requests for extra towels or water.
The only part I was disappointed in was the spa. After weeks of travel I was looking forward to my first massage. I booked a day and a time that was wide open for appointments yet they started late, not a big deal but I had booked an 80 minute massage yet only received 50 minutes. They were apologetic but it did not meet expectations from start to early finish.

Everything about Hospes Puerta de Alcala is first class. The entire front desk staff is happy and helpful (Raquel, Juan, Fernando, Miquel, I hope I Didn't miss anyone!). Our room was beautiful and comfortable. A bottle of Cava was waiting for us in our room, and then a bottle of complimentary wine the next day! Room service (Guillermo) was quick and courteous. Breakfast was expansive and all you could ask for. The pool was a bit hidden but a delightful experience. Excellent hotel stay!
