Fabulous stay from checkin to checkout. Fantastic personnel, very polite and attentive. The room was big, modern finish, very comfortable and clean.
Perferred access to Rooftop was a perk, best 360° rooftop view of Madrid!
Breakfast buffet abundant, high quality and delicious

Just visited Madrid for the first time and this hotel certainly added to a fantastic trip in a wonderful city.

The hotel is stunning both inside and out with an extra touch of magic with the Christmas decorations.

We visited the rooftop bar for some drinks and food and it was incredible. The views over Madrid are simply breathtaking.

The hotel was immaculate throughout and our room was modern with great facilities to make for a perfect stay. A couple of issues for considering, other than opening the window, it was difficult to keep a comfortable temperature as the air conditioning was off ( I understand this is due to regulations), so on occasion the room was too hot. Secondly, the shower needs care as hot water was super dangerous hot when trying to regulate the temperature.

Breakfast was simply sublime, such a fantastic range of good quality foods and drinks and all overseen and managed by a great team of friendly welcoming staff, thank you

My final thoughts are on the staff. From housekeeping, reception, door staff and bar all treated us as valued and very welcome guests. I particularly mention the lady working on the downstairs bar who went out of her way to help us when we just missed closing time , brilliant. The staff are a credit to this very impressive hotel. Thank you

My husband and I took a midweek break to celebrate my birthday. The hotel was beautiful, spotlessly clean, central location and such helpful and friendly staff. It was a home from home experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel. The breakfast buffet was excellent and the coffee from the coffee machine was delicious. On my actual birthday I returned to my room to find a lovely note and a box of chocolates. I would like to say a huge thank you to Paulino and Pablo at the customer service desk who gave us so much useful advice about places to visit, transport links and booked a restaurant for us. Such kind, helpful and courteous gentlemen. An absolute credit to your wonderful hotel.

Before our arrival, I made a note informing the hotel that we were visiting to celebrate our anniversary.

Upon check-in, we were given a key to our room. However, when we entered, we were shocked to find that the room was already occupied by other guests. Walking in on strangers was not only extremely uncomfortable but also a serious security concern.

We immediately returned to the reception, where the staff apologized for the mistake and offered us a “better” room as compensation. However, when we entered the second room, we realized it was far from ideal. The window faced a busy restaurant with hundreds of diners who could easily see inside, leaving us with no privacy whatsoever. Additionally, instead of the king-sized bed we had specifically booked and paid for, the room had two separate beds.

Once again, we had to return to the reception to request another room. This time, we were informed that no further accommodations could be made, but they eventually placed us in a final room—one with windows that directly faced a blank wall.

The entire experience left us devastated and in shock. What was meant to be a special and memorable anniversary night was completely ruined, to the point that we didn’t even feel like going out.

We booked a 3 day trip with BA, including breakfast - which incidentally is stupendous. We don't usually stay in this kind of place - it's huge! That said, the staff in all areas, without exception, are very friendly and helpful. A big draw are the two bars at the top which non residents can visit. The Rooftop bar (outside) has glass walkways, not for the faint-hearted, but plenty of young folk seem keen to walk across them. Far more pleasant is the Sky Bar, one floor down, with spectacular views from the windows in all sides. We went up there for a quiet drink each day - thoroughly enjoyable. A very varied mix of clients in the hotel, from business people to families and all are catered for equally .The room was large and absolutely spotless, and the location cannot be better - absolutely central. So all in all, the Riu ticks every box. An excellent stay.
