Our experience at the hotel was somewhat disappointing. While the room itself was nice, the bathroom was in poor condition, with black mold, which is a serious health concern. The lobby was beautifully designed, but unfortunately, the rooftop bar was under construction, so we couldn’t fully enjoy the view. Breakfast was visually appealing but not particularly impressive in terms of taste, though the staff was exceptionally kind. On the positive side, the location was very convenient, making it easy to explore the city.

Lived up to their 4-star rating. Location is great. Atmosphere is pleasant. Room was spotless and was kept clean daily. Everything worked. Breakfast met with my needs. Staff are friendly, attentive and helpful. On balance, great value and comfortable 2-nights stay.

Wonderful experience beginning to end. Hotel staff were very nice, smooth check-in. The hotel is very charming with a fantastic terrace cafe, amazing views and the beautiful hanging garden! It is located near many cafes and restaurants and for us was just minutes' walk to see El Rey Lion!

I stayed ten days here and it was amazing! The breakfast buffet was delicious every morning. They have the best coffee, the tortilla egg dish was amazing, the staff was great. The room was perfect and made up every day. Location was perfect, walking distance to everything and very easy to hail a cab when you’re tired of walking :) The vertical garden was breathtaking! So pleased with my stay here, thank you Hotel Santo Domingo!

Definitely not a 4 star hotel. We had booked it for four nights unfortunately and was with my family on vacation. Rooms are small and stuffy. They smell bad and carpets are dirty and dated. Rooms AC control is the main problem. We like the room to be cooler and the management controls the heating during winter. The room heated up at night with no fan blowing and it made the room very stuffy and hot in the night. We asked the reception to reduce the temperature or give us the control. They said they cannot give the control and asked us to open the windows, which did not help as it was super noisy outside. I guess they are just cutting cost by maintaining/controlling the temperature. Besides we could also hear the conversations and even bathroom usage from our neighbors as the walls were not insulated at all. Forget about any amenities here. Will never stay here again and do not recommend this hotel to anyone. There are much better hotels nearby which have the same location benefits. Please avoid staying here.
