My wife and I have not even finished our two week stay at the Petit Palace Alfonso but I did not want to wait to post our glowing review. This is our first visit to Madrid, but we have visited quite a few places worldwide.  We are from the Washington, DC area, have stayed at many hotels throughout the world, and would easily recommend this wonderful hotel to anyone.  You cannot beat the location across the street from the wonderful Retiro Park, which itself is worth a morning or two for its botanical and historic interest, and just a short walk to some of the finest museums in Madrid. The hotel building is antique, which means high ceilings, working balconies (where do you see that in major cities?!), and fewer amenities that you might see in more modern buildings (no gym, for instance).  But, who cares?  The staff here are wonderful, kind and friendly.  I must mention in particular Laura at the front desk, and Tonie at the breakfast restaurant, but everyone has been exceptionally kind and helpful, even to someone like me who speaks no Spanish.  Our room overlooks the park and is very comfortable.  The breakfast is enormous, fresh fruits, wide array of breads, eggs served to order, great coffee, you simply can’t find a better breakfast anywhere on Earth.  But mainly you must come here to experience the warm hospitality that everyone here has extended to us, they really treat you like family, I can’t thank them enough. So please, do yourself a favor, come to Madrid, a wonderful city, and stay at the Petit Palace Savoy Alfonso, you will be very glad that you did!

Modern rooms, clean, and great location.  My room had a small enclosed balcony. Great price in a more expensive area . Room had a hair dryer, fridge, and kettle for tea, coffee. Right across from the park.

We had a two night stay and the service was wonderful, Fernando was very friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating to our requests. If you're visiting Madrid you would find it difficult to book a better stay than at this hotel.

The hotel is perfectly placed, beautiful, and full of great staff, and the apartment with view of the park is a ridiculously good value if you can get it. Living room area is huge, comfortable furniture. Kitchen has everything you need and more (blender?!). Jacuzzi is huge and turning on both sets of jets is very powerful and relaxing. The waterfall shower and attachment is great as well.  The only thing I can't speak for is the A/C since we never needed it with this weather.

The park is amazing and huge and you are right across from an entrance. Coffee shop steps away to the south and a few gem restaurants  like Brisket around the corner. North is a popular street with outside seating restaurants all around and a shopping district.  Museums and beautiful attractions nearby. And wiith all of this around you, somehow this place is just PEACEFUL. We had the windows facing the park open during the morning it was so quiet and nice.

Just fantastic all around. Would gladly stay here again!

What a great find! Great location across from the park. Convenient to metro stations.  The AC wasnt that great in our room but everything else was great.  The breakfast was the best!!! Better than the 5 star hotel we stayed in later on our trip. The staff was very helpful.  Would definitely stay here again.
