The restaurant has an open kitchen concept and serves humble traditional dishes from the Galicia region. Many dishes incorporate potatos, chorizo, fish, mussels and empanadas. The food was satisfactory, some dishes like the sea bass and potatos lacked some salt. The empanada was delicious but the tuna was not noticeable. The atmosphere in the restaurant was very industrial and fun. The service was very friendly, especially the chef’s attention was outstanding.

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately I did not. The space and vibe is very cool and the staff is super friendly.
Service is very slow unfortunately. food in general lacked taste and salt.
We ordered:
Mussels: lacking a lot of salt
King crab salad: very little crab and the potatoes were undercooked
Tortilla with octopus: not a very generous portion of octopus for the quantity of tortilla and was served cold
Mains:
Cheek: this was alright, not amazing
Sea bass: very bland
Hake: bland as well and tasted too fishy
Overall, disappointed in the food and quite expensive. We paid 167 EUR for 3 people (main dishes were 26 eur each).

We had a reservation for lunch. The service was a bit chaotic, which was later compensated by a complementary dish by the main chef ( to be fair they did look like they were understaffed). We ordered white wine, empanada del dia, berberechos, escabeche de mejillones, callos a la Gallega, and arroz con merluza. In the end we highly enjoyed our meal.

Xeito 19'20" is a hidden gem in Madrid. From the food to the service everything contributes to a lovely experience.

The meals were prepared with exquisite, fresh ingredients. Each dish was meticulously executed and the service provided was delightful.

We found this fantastic restaurant by coincidence, looking for a restaurant where they served wine by the glas. Not sure why I dont see a lot of people and guides recommend it.
This open concept kitchen confused us a bit the first time. We entered and then went out again because we thought we had entered the kitchen :). But you actually walk through the kitchen when you enter and the kitchen is open, so you can see all they are cooking and doing. You can also get a seat at the kitchen table which is an extension of the counter top where they cook. This is a really great place and I will try to get this seat every time we go. We only had a few dishes but they were amazing. Must try the leeks! Very few times has a dish surprised me like that.
They have a wine card that changes all the time and the wines are typically from small producers, so I did not know many of the wines. Have tried quite a few the couple of times I went and they were all quality wine.
Service was great and the waiter who is in charge of the wines know her stuff.
This is a must try if you go to Madrid.
