We stayed at Urso in October 2024 and were delighted with how clean and nice the hotel room was. We loved the front desk staff, they were always ready to help. When my husband asked them to decorate our room for my birthday, one of them offered to pick up a birthday cake for me at a nearby store, showing true dedication to customer service. 1000% highly recommend, and can’t wait to stay here again the next time we’re in Madrid.

Very friendly/helpful staff. Hotel in a convenient location. Valet parking was good. Hallway to our room (level 2) smelled of urine 🤢 TV in room didn't support Smart TV functionality. Shower didn't stay at same temperature (changed from cold to burning hot every ~20 seconds)

While the room and hotel are very lovely, the service, sadly, was not. Attention to detail and to the guest is the mark of a truly fine hotel. Sadly, Urso fell short.
The deadbolt lock on our room did not work. I asked the desk person to have it fixed. The next evening on our return it had not been fixed. The desk person then said engineering had been by and said it was fine. It was not. The room was across from the busy breakfast room and on the first floor just at the top of the stairs. There was not someone greeting guests at the door full time.  I did not feel entirely safe.  Someone could have offered to come to the room with us to check it out, but they did not. A truly first rate hotel would have offered.
In addition, there was an erroneous charge from the minibar in our room of 36 euros. It was deleted from the bill, but we never take anything from a minibar and did not this time.
The counter in our bathroom was not cleaned.
A minor added thing — droppings from the Christmas decorations were on the stairway going up to the first floor. They were there when we arrived and still there when we left, 2 days later.
All in all, disappointed with our stay.

The hotel looks very classy and elegant from the outside, however the rooms are very run down and dated. The shower handle broke off several times and sprayed water everywhere, the furniture had rips, stains and  floors were all scratched up. Worst part about the hotel is that we were charged 2 euro for asking for an extra Nespresso pod. I’ve stayed in 5 star hotels all over the world and have never been charged for asking for an extra pod. Cheap! I wish we had stayed somewhere else.

The hotel is beautiful and the lobby, antique elevator, and decor are all great. We were upgraded to a deluxe room which was nice but still a little small. Keep in mind this is in the heart of Madrid so that is to be expected. What sets this apart from other hotels is the amazing service from the staff. We did not have one negative encounter during our stay and all the staff were extremely helpful and proactive to helping us with any issues. We had a 1 year old with us, so the extra help and attention was greatly appreciated. We are also Americans, so we’re not always everyone’s favorites. We’ve stayed at 5 star hotels across the world and I think only Conrad Seoul or Old Cataract Hotel in Aswan were at this service level. Great hotel for any occasion and very easy for English speakers. I’d like to give a special thanks to Lucas who saw me struggling to set up a slumber pod (baby item) in the hallway and helped get it set up and installed even though it took about 20 minutes. Overall I would highly recommend and we will probably come back when we return to Madrid.
