If you want to immerse yourself in nature, enjoy excellent food and switch off, this is the place to do it. We had 4 nights here and we are already thinking of when we can return. It is just perfect. The staff could not have been more welcoming, and the owners are very hands on in their business and truly care about your experience. The food is outstanding (it is geared to carnivores in general, and the specialities of the region). The rooms have everything you could need, and the views are like pictures. Do book deluxe rooms on the higher floor for the best views. The balconies on these rooms are also completely covered and I can imagine sitting there even in winter. The deluxe rooms also have bathtubs and fires… so good for any time of year. Extremadura is beautiful - verdant and so under visited. We combined this stay with Madrid and Caceres (in Caceres the best place to stay is Casa Pizarro), and we would do the same again, adding Salamanca. In a world full of over visited places, Extremadura really is a wonderful place  - Get there before it is discovered!

One of the best places to full recover from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The location, the facilities (particularly the pool and the hammam), the team and the food in the restaurant were simoly awesome!

Our wedding celebration at Habitat Ciguena Negra was nothing short of perfection. The service, the venue, and the food exceeded all our expectations and made our special day truly unforgettable!

From the very beginning, the professionalism and dedication of the staff, particularly Marga and Alice, were evident. Despite planning our wedding from Germany, their regular calls and meticulous attention to detail in organizing the timing, menus, decorations, and other specifics made the entire process smooth and stress-free.

The food was another highlight. Not only was it absolutely delicious, but the team also went above and beyond to accommodate the dietary needs of our guests. The menu was thoughtfully adjusted, ensuring everyone had a wonderful dining experience. This level of care and attention was reflected in every aspect of the service. The staff were warm, welcoming, and exceptionally attentive, making us and our guests feel truly special.

We are filled with gratitude for the incredible wedding that Habitat Ciguena Negra helped us achieve. It was more than we could have ever dreamed of, and we will cherish the memories forever. Fantastic Family run getaway in the heartlands of Extremadura, 30 mins from the Portuguese border. Restaurant with delicious meats and fantastic produce, excellent breakfast offer, and fabulous pool area. The land is paradisal with their amazing cattle, sheeps, and goats and lake for bird watching. A hidden gem perfect for a couple of days of solitude. We will be back.
