One of the most authentic market places I ever visited in Spain. No frill, so not for cult-ish vegans: there’s a meat market on top,and a fish and seafood market down below. Below is also where you can find whatever fruit you love.
What people don’t know: this market hall, opened in 1922, was heavily bombed and destroyed in 1938 - by an Italian air raid supporting the Franco regime. 300 civilians were killed- the brutal attack marked the end of the Spanish civil war.

We have visited a lot of Spanish mercados but this is one of the best. Lots of variety of produce & friendly stall holders. A local school was visiting and one of the meat vendors was having a great time showing them the various cuts of meat ☺️.

Brilliant place to visit, probably the best indoor market I've ever visited, had a beer at the little café on the fruit and veg floor it included an amazing sardine and roasted onion tapa.

This was a very good stop to see the local food with a couple of tapas bars. We got some local olives which we ate later on. It was lovely.
