If you are looking for an enjoyable restaurant experience don’t go to this place. But if you are just looking for good meat and a good selection of wines this could be for you.

The experience was not worth it. The first thing that came to mind after stepping into the restaurant was hurry. The atmosphere was tight and the waitors were running around. I got a feeling that I was in a hurry to choose what I was having and to eat fast because the atmosphere was like that. That shouldn’t happen in a restaurant where the most important thing is to create an enjoyable experience for the customers to chill and forget about their daily life hurries.

The food was seasoned very well and I loved the peppered beef fillet. The pasta was also very well made. Though the food journey was ruined as soon as I had eaten the steak halfway through because it got cold. Why did it get cold, you might ask, because the plates were not warm to begin with. As a restaurant that is thought of at a high level, warm your plates please. It’s a simple task but makes the food experience 100% better because you can enjoy the greatness of the food to the last bite. And not just the first half.

What also affected the experience was that the space was very tight. The tables were put very close to each other and I think that if you just got rid of a few tables the experience would be elevated. At many points in our night there was a situation where the tables next to us had to get up and go past our table almost knocking down either a candle, the bread “bag” or I would just have to stop eating and let them pass because my elbow would poke them if I continued to eat. These are not things I want to think about when I wish to have a calming dinner experience with a loved one.

All of this added, it unfortunately did not reach the requirements of an enjoyable night out.

So. This is problematic. This place has a tradition of being one of the top restaurants in Luleå. But it starting to feel like it runs on old merits.

Service is still very very good. So no shade on the serving staff.
List of wine is good. The bar has a wide variety of brands and the bartender made a very nice drink.

However. The food is… not good.
Starters were decent but overpriced for what was served. A burrata for 200kr that’s absolutely nothing special. And we had to ask for bread.
Main was a shared plate of side cuts from four different meats. It costs 1000kr and looks like the picture. It’s nothing else. Not a vegetable, no presentation. No nothing.
The lamb we got was pretty good. Tender and seasoned right. But the other cuts was on the verge of being inedible due to an insane amount of salt. The iberico tasted nothing but salt.

So. All in all. The serving staff knows what they are doing. The chef sadly does not.

Not worth the money. Go to the other few restaurants that offers fine dining in the city.

I've experienced dozens of five-course tasting menus in various top-end fine-dining eateries - most of them good. But typically one or two of the dishes leaves some room for improvement. This was not the case with magnificent Restaung CG's tasting menu - everything was simply magnificent!

As there is always an element of a surprise with the tasting menus, I will not reveal the details of the menu in this review. I just include one photo of the dessert as a teaser here. I will tell you though that all the five dishes were made with fresh, delightful and surprising components and ingredients. Dishes were skillfully and carefully prepared. And the entire menu was a well-thought out sum of continuos fireworks of an eating experience.

To top it all, the service was excellent. Our waiter was corteous, fun and his timing was perfect.

This was simply the best dinner ever!

I recently dined at CG:s and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and service. The ambiance was cozy and welcoming, and the staff were all very friendly and attentive.

The menu had a great selection of dishes to choose from, and everything I ordered was cooked to perfection. The portions were generous and the prices were very reasonable.

Overall, I had a fantastic experience at CG:s and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a tasty meal in a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere. Four to five stars.

Food was very slow with weird timing for a 3 course meal. The table next to us was quite close despite a nearly empty restaurant so we heard full descriptions of their dishes, however we didn't receive the same quality of service.

I absolutely loved the besserwizzer cocktail. Norrbottensmeny was good, although the char was the best thing we had, but it had underwhelming sides. I love almost all ice cream and was fairly disappointed in the dessert. Still hungry after the meal.

It was a unique and good meal, however everything felt too expensive for the experience.
