Great dining experience. The menu is of great value for money (and taste wise is excellent), offering a variety of choices, including vegetarian and vegan options. Dishes are prepared and presented with real care. They also have a fine selection of wines to accompany your dinner.

I admit that I was a little skeptical about driving all the way to Ystad for some good gourmet food. But I was in no way disappointed. I fully understand, that the Michelin Guide has given this place a Bib Gourmand, because at JH Matbar you get really delicious and complex food. I was positively surprised by their non-alcoholic pairing with the food, a wonderful experience, now that I had to drive home to Denmark again the same evening. An unexpected and good experience. JH Matbar is definitely a place I will return to.

All in all, we had an excellent dining experience. Very nice choices from the menu, good wines, very friendly and skilled staff. It's difficult to pick a favorite, but the pike perche and ice cream dessert stood out. It's very worth a visit - thank you.

We didn’t know this place had a Michelin guide mentioning when booking and it was a very pleasant surprise as we walked in. The food was spectacular, the service excellent. Portions are small so ensure to choose snack+4 and ask for extra of the home baked bread. We opted for non-alcoholic drinks-pairing and enjoyed amazing ciders and homemade fruit and berry juices. Great value for money for such high quality, highly recommended!
