I have been to Stockholm many times, but this was my first time staying at the Birger Jarl. I must say I had a very positive experience! The hotel is located in a nice and very quiet neighborhood, with the nearest Tunnelbana station or bus stops allowing you to be in the heart of the city in less than 15 minutes. The room and bed were very good (only a slight issue with the toilet...), and the biggest highlight was definitely the breakfast! (Delicious, fresh food - both sweet and savory - every morning. I miss it already! ;) )

Really nice room,  friendly and professional staff.  Varied breakfast.  Why,  though,  is the orange juice so crappy? I find that is so common,  definitely not unique to this hotel.  So,  please spend a few öre more on the orange juice!

We stayed for new years and it wasn’t bad but It wasn’t the best either, The buffet was definitely the highlight of the hotel since they actually had a variety but the room was average the bathroom was really small for average sized rooms and service was okay and location was pretty good too it’s walking distance to several places. Overall 3 stars

Very suitable hotel. It had pretty much everything that I needed while staying here. The staff here were super nice and very informative of giving me suggestions on what to do in the city. The rooms could use a little updating but overall were fine. There was a little step walking in and out of the room that  I would constantly trip over. Looked like all the rooms by me had this too. Was not a big fan of the showers here. The plexiglass shower "door" moves in and out that I didn't realize the first night so I was very crammed in while showering until I realized you could move the shower "door". Did not like the whole bathroom floor is also considered the shower floor. So I would constantly have to put down towels on the floor as I showered so the water wouldn't roll out all over the floor. I was really excited they had a gym here but sadden to hear that the week I was there was the week they were I guess swapping out all the old gym equipment for newer ones. Which is always good, just sad I was not informed of this and could only use the free weights and a bench chair for the gym. There is a bar located in the lobby area with a restaurant, I was not able to try it out but it was constantly busy so I presume it was good. The location is just far out enough to be away from the busy city center but close enough to walk to it as well. Would consider saying here again, but if you can find better I say go else where.

Clean good rooms. Quiet and spacious. Breakfast is an OK standard Swedish hotel breakfast. A very small gym is available. Location is the best part of the hotel.
