Excellent place to immerse yourself in the world of Astrid Lindgren characters. Amazing journey by train, very nice lunch and fantastic theatrical performance by Pippi, Tommy and Annika!
All of this together gave the impression of a fulfilling program.
If there are no theater performances, there may be a feeling that something is missing...

We visit with our 1y8m 👧 on a Friday around 10. Comming during morning times is probably better and you avoid the crowds.The story train is really well made for kids and adults and was the main attraction for us.The museum is more of an indoor playground and Stockholm has plenty of those. The place I evaluate more for 4-5 then for younger or older kids. Parking is available on the spot if you arrive early.Not worthy for adults only as you will witness hundreds of kids with parents pushing and trying to find a place to fit, stand take a picture.

Went on a Monday and there was no crowd. The train ride was great and we really liked it. Worth the visit for our 3 year old kid.

Junibacken was one of the main reasons we visited Stockholm. My daughter is a big fan of Pippi Longstocking and was eager to see the museum. We bought our tickets a couple of days in advance, and when purchasing online, it’s also possible to reserve seats for the theater show. The show itself is free, but you must book a seat in advance, as it’s not possible to stay and watch without one. I had read that there are usually long queues to enter the museum, but we were lucky and got in about 10 minutes before our ticketed time. Note that when you buy tickets online, you can enter within 30 minutes of the time specified on the ticket.

The museum overall is okay. The first floor has a nice play area, a creativity zone where kids can make crafts, and a room filled with soft blocks that can be used for building. The highlight of the museum is definitely the train ride. It was very interesting, and you can choose the language for the audio tour. The last stop of the train is on the second floor at Villa Villekulla—Pippi’s residence. This area has another cute play space and the theater stage. Although the show was in Swedish, it was still enjoyable. After the show, we visited the dining area, which is designed like a circus. The cafeteria offers some traditional meals, like Swedish meatballs, as well as pancakes for kids.
