Wanted to try Mexican and ended up at Mexikanska Monarkin. Seems to be a popular place at the moment. We came just when it opened and where the first, but while we were waiting it started to fill up. Better to book a table.
I liked the atmosphere and the service was good. Food wise I expected a bit more. The spicy el patron was not spicy at all and in general I found the tacos a bit bland. Overall it was a nice experience and the food was kids friendly as well.

I really wish I could've enjoyed my experience here more, but it was truly disappointing. First the service was mediocre at best, I'm not sure what kind of issues the kitchen had that evening but it took more than 40 minutes to get our food and when we got it some of the order was wrong. We weren't given any explanation and had to keep waiting for the right food. The food quality was also poor, with the carne asada being extremely tough and rubbery. For the price point each taco should have been higher quality and prepared with better care. I won't be returning since there are better Mexican restaurants around the city at the same or lower price point.  The one thing I did enjoy was the presentation of the taco player.

Even though we have arrived 10 minutes before the kitchen closed the kind staff offered us delicious food. So we had the most incredible taco plate and quesadillas, we've eaten in a while. To sum it up: Great place, you definitely have to visit, while your stay in Göteborg.

-High price per portion. This place really need to reevaluate the prices to market standards. That's the main drawback I see, and that's why the low rating
-drinks were average. Didn't really taste any alcohol in cocktail
