Fint hus och fin miljö men julmiddagen denna decemberhelg var ingen höjdare. En femrättersmeny inspirerad av julens smaker serverades där en av mellanrätterna var en blöt fläck leversörja ackompanjerad av en stekt kall brödbit. Före den en förrätt i tre delar där två var fantastiska och den tredje bestod av icke dagsfärskt torrt och smaklöst ris samt en sillbit. Huvudrätten var god och vällagad men saknade vettiga tillbehör. Osträtten såg trevlig och inbjudande ut men tillbehören i kombination med mögelosten gjorde att allt smakade fränt. Serveringen avslutades med en näst intill oätlig dessert som skulle påminna om ris à la malta. Kaffet som serverades till middagen var vattnigt och bränt på samma gång och glassen som serverades till tvååringen hade nog tinats många gånger då den var full av iskristaller..

Vi hade stora förväntningar och hade betalt dyrt (nästan 1.000:-/pp EXKL dryck) men det blev en stor besvikelse och vi avslutade kvällen tidigt. En förtjusande miljö och fin service kompenserar tyvärr inte maten som har en central roll vid en övernattning av detta slag. Att endast mötas av ett ”tråkigt” när vi meddelade att vi var missnöjda med maten kändes inte som en värdig avslutning på något vi hoppats mer på..

Nice house and nice environment, but the Christmas dinner this December weekend was not a highlight. A five-course menu inspired by the flavors of Christmas was served where one of the entrees was a soggy patch of liver sauce accompanied by a piece of fried cold bread. Before that, a starter in three parts, two of which were fantastic and the third consisted of dry and tasteless rice that was not fresh, and a piece of herring. The main course was good and well prepared but lacked sensible side dishes. The cheese course looked nice and inviting, but the side dishes combined with the blue cheese made everything taste fishy. The service ended with an almost inedible dessert that would resemble rice à la malta. The coffee that was served for dinner was watery and burnt at the same time and the ice cream that was served to the two year old had probably been thawed many times as it was full of ice crystals..

We had high expectations and had paid dearly (almost SEK 1,000/pp EXCLUSIVE drink) but it was a big disappointment and we ended the evening early. A delightful environment and fine service unfortunately do not compensate for the food, which plays a central role in an overnight stay of this kind. To only be met with a "sad" when we announced that we were dissatisfied with the food did not feel like a worthy end to something we had hoped for more..

Villa Strömsfors är utan tvekan det häftigaste ställe jag bott på. Och då har jag ändå rest runt och bott på en hel del ställen.
Maten, miljön, servicen och inte minst standarden på sviten gjorde denna vistelse till en av de absolut bästa upplevelser EVER.
Kan varmt rekommenderas.

Villa Strömsfors is without a doubt the coolest place I've ever stayed. And then I have still traveled around and lived in quite a few places.
The food, the environment, the service and not least the standard of the suite made this stay one of the absolute best experiences EVER.
