A very cool hotel with a prime location. I arrived quite late on a rainy day, but that feeling of fatigue quickly faded when I first laid eyes on it. I couldn’t believe it was a real old sailing ship docked there, as I wasn’t sure when I booked it—I thought it was just a hotel styled like a wooden sailboat. Check-in is self-service if you arrive late, but if there’s any issue, you can easily contact the staff by phone, and they’ll do their best to assist you. The room matched the pictures I saw during booking; it wasn’t very big, but hey, it’s a sailor’s room! Haha. You can see the water through the porthole, and it’s not welded shut—it actually opens. If I remember correctly (it’s been a while since my stay), there was a booklet in the room about the ship’s history, which was a fascinating touch to the experience. Everything was perfect, and if I pass by this place again in the future, I’d definitely consider staying here again.

The converted “tall sailing ship” was a unique experience to stay at. The ship had incredible character & was really well presented. Although the ship is not far from the rail station, there were limited drink/dining options in its immediate vicinity. We would have loved for their bar to be open in the evening so we could enjoy the full character & views the boat could’ve offered. Although there were no staff on site to check us in, they were available via phone & friendly with our check in process. The floor in our room was sloped, thus so were our beds, which made it a little difficult to get a proper night’s sleep. Breakfast was great. A good variety of cold foods & drinks, along with a couple of cooked options and the eating room was a real nice room on the boat. Staying here was a unique & enjoyable experience which (if you’re not looking for luxury), everyone should look to do.

I really enjoyed our stay on the ship. How often do you get to stay on a tall ship, it looks so imposing from the outside and beautiful at night. The rooms are basic but totally fine and clean. Breakfast was nice. Though the second day they said they would open at 7:00am and we were still waiting by 7:15am and unfortunately had to go catch our plane. The location is very central and only a 9 minute walk from where the airport bus drops you off. Be warned that you may have to hang on the phone for checkin for a long time. We arrived at 23:20 at night and was worried we wouldn’t get in but it was all fine. A bargain price for this hotel.

Outstanding hotel considering its value for money!

The ship is situated in the city centre, only a short walk from the train station and the high street. From your room, you have a water-view with the ability to see into central Gothenburg.

Served from 7am till 10am, breakfast is included: pastries, juice, charcuterie, eggs, sandwiches, fruit and chia seed pudding. The breakfast area is very nice with lots of space; you won't struggle to find a table.

The room I stayed in was very clean with white bedsheets and towels. The atmosphere is very beautiful and traditional which accounted for the room size being small (it feels natural for the room to be this size, not cramped at all). There are sockets to charge your devices all over the room and radiators to keep yourself warm (if you stay during the winter, your room will not be cold).

The bathroom is nice as it comes with cups to put your toothbrushes in, and a little shelf to keep your other toiletries. There is excellent free WiFi onboard with no password/login required: 1ms latency, 60mbps download, 25mbps upload (very fast! - I was able to watch HD videos, attend online face-to-face tutoring and download apps in a matter of seconds).

The only thing I will say is that the staff is not always available, however, there are two phone numbers you can contact if you need help. If you do stay here, I recommend that you arrive around lunchtime to check-in while the reception is open (this is what I did after reading the reviews), then head out for lunch and come back at 3pm to enter your freshly cleaned room.

If you are coming to Gothenburg to work or to sit university entrance exams, this is by far the best place you can book out of all the other options nearby.

Picture summerizes our stay quite well.. Uncleaned rooms, the first of which didint have working ceiling lights in a WINDOWLESS room. A problem not eaisly fixed since there is no hotel staff present after 14:00.. When check in is at 15. Were met by a man who said he was "a cleaner" and that he would give us our room keys very haphazardly. When the room was unusable we had to sit in a phone line while someone? Got a new room for us.
Just got awoken at 10 by persistent knocks from the only person employed to handle both breakfast AND checkouts, who wanted to know when we would like to check out and that we would also have to remember to pay for our stay . Checkout time is at 12..

Incredibly unserious business that obviously spread their staff way too thin to run a hotel while cashing in with the boat thing.

Avoid and instead take the equally cheap Goodmorning+ boat close-by which was excellent for the price.

Oh and the luggage room where i was offered to leave my bag pre-check in was left unwatched and unlocked while reception was unmanned and only a cleaner was somewhere on the big boat.
