Loud AC and horrible lightning in the room. Room itself is not really cozy or well decorated, well cleaned but this not that fresh. King size bed is actually two beds put together with separate mattresses. It didn’t help that I even got the worst view and had the curtains closed the whole visit. Unfriendly service when checking in. Stars for the breakfast och location. I really wanted to try the pool but it was already fully booked when I arrived…

Good size rooms that are clean. Varied and fresh breakfast with attentive staff. Overall very friendly service and the location is good, close to the center of town. Have stayed two times now and have absolutely no complaints.

If fly to Gothenburg and have a place to stay this hotel, no need any car. Exactly in front of the central station. Great breakfast and nice room design.

Unfortunately, I have to leave the lowest rating to the hotel. I've booked a room, but due too the train line interruption between Copenhagen and Oslo via Gothenburg, have to travel via another city. I explained the reason to the hotel and asked to cancel my booking, that was many months before the booking date, so it should be no issue for the hotel. They declined my request and asked me to write the booking administration to solve the problem. I did exactly what they asked me to do, but despite of this they declined my request the second time. When my booking date will pass, I will also leave the lowest rating on the booking website.

Scandic Europa offers a convenient location right next to the railway station, making it easy to explore Gothenburg on foot.

The breakfast, while standard, is enjoyable. However, the time slot booking system can be a bit inconvenient. The hotel restaurant provides a pleasant dining experience, with good food and attentive service. Our waitress was particularly kind and accommodating, even going out of her way to entertain our toddler. The downside is that the restaurant is closed on Sundays.

Unfortunately, there were a few drawbacks to our stay. The pool was disappointingly cold, despite our inquiry with the staff. We had hoped to enjoy a swim with our toddler, but the temperature was simply too low. It's unclear why the pool is kept so cold, especially considering its small size. This detracted from the overall experience. I guess they don't want people to enjoy the pool.

The bathroom had some unsightly issues. There was some kind of stuff under the tub in the bathroom. I couldn't tell if it was mold or something else but it looked disgusting.

Offloading in front of the hotel was a nightmare. I almost got a ticket for leaving the car in a parking spot outside the main entrance for five minutes.

Parking is in a parking garage on the other side of the adjacent mall, which is a bit inconvenient, especially if you have a lot of luggage and/or is raining. And on top of that the parking is not complimentary but you have to pay for it.

Overall, Scandic Europa is a decent choice for a stay in Gothenburg, but while it's a four star hotel it has the feel of a three star hotel.
