Thank you! We had an amazing stay at the Cambrian Hotel. The hotel itself is beautiful, and all the services offered are excellent – the bar, the spa, the ski room with the heated boot rack, the bar (yes, I mention it twice because we visited often), the breakfast, the billiards, and the fireplace in the lobby that gives off a wonderful scent of burning wood.

Beyond the hotel, the staff is incredible as well. Apologies, I don't have names to share, but the three bartenders who welcomed us and served us with kindness every day, the lady with glasses and a ponytail who speaks French at breakfast – despite the rush, she greeted us with a smile. The receptionist who checked us in and recommended the ski slopes suited to our level. The housekeeping team who greeted us in the hallways and did an outstanding job maintaining the cleanliness of our rooms. Everything was perfect, and we will definitely return with friends to enjoy your hotel once again.

The Cambrian Hotel presents itself as a high-end destination, with a beautifully designed website and professional marketing. However, as a couple on a weekend getaway, we found that certain aspects did not live up to the price we paid.

Highlights:
•	Great location
•	Spa facilities – The sauna, steam room, and both indoor and outdoor pools offer beautiful views.
•	Cleanliness
•	Ski service – Complimentary pick-up and drop-off service for skiers, which is a nice touch.

Areas for Improvement:
•      Housekeeping schedule – Housekeeping begins as early as 9:00 AM, which felt too early for us. If you prefer to sleep in, be sure to place the “Do Not Disturb” sign on your door. Additionally, if you happen to be in the room when they come, they will not return later to clean.
•	Lack of soundproofing – The rooms are not soundproof at all. We could hear noise from the hallways and other rooms in the morning, which was quite disruptive. Given the hotel’s modern renovation, this was a surprising oversight.
•	Service quality – The service was underwhelming for a hotel in this price range. While a staff member guided us to our room and gave us a tour, there was no assistance with our luggage or ski gear upon arrival. Additionally, we experienced some awkward interactions, such as staff insisting on speaking German even when we responded in English, and an assumption that we hadn’t paid when we actually had.
•	Restaurant experience – For what we paid, the five-course meal was underwhelming. One of the vegetable courses was extremely salty, and despite paying 150 CHF per person, we left feeling hungry. The portion sizes were small, and overall, it felt overpriced for the quality and quantity of food provided.

Final Thoughts

While The Cambrian has a beautiful location and nice spa, the lack of soundproofing, early housekeeping, average service, made it fall a little short of expectations—considering the price point.

We spent 4 nights at the hotel in December 2024. We had a south facing room. The room was spacious, clean, well appointed with a spectacular view of the Alps. Everything in the hotel was very considered and we just felt welcome and at home. The outdoor pool was amazing, especially swimming in the snow at night. The Spa had everything we needed. The breakfast was great. The restaurant and food at night was really good. Your staff was friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. Andersen was superb! Always available, kind and classy. Our only recommendation would be to try and separate the restaurant from the breakfast venue. Sitting in the same area as breakfast didn’t feel very special. Overall our whole experience was brilliant. Thank you.

Our stay was truly exceptional. The location was beautiful, with breathtaking views.

Conveniently, there was a bus stop right across the street.

The amenities were impressive, including multiple pools, a spa, a sauna, a fitness room, a snooker table, a piano, and comfortable lounge areas.

The restaurant and bar offered delicious dishes, and the breakfast buffet was extensive and delicious.

The staff at the reception area were incredibly helpful and attentive, ensuring our stay was as comfortable as possible.

We were so impressed with our experience that we decided to extend our stay by one night.
