Our stay at this hotel in Zermatt was absolutely exceptional! It’s hands down the best hotel you can find in the area. The view from our room was breathtaking—truly unbeatable. The breakfast was amazing, with a wide variety of delicious options that set the perfect tone for our day. We felt so welcomed and comfortable throughout our stay, thanks to the outstanding service and attention to detail from the staff.

The cocktails were fantastic, adding a special touch to our evening. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended!

From the moment we arrived, the experience at Chalet Hotel Schönegg was absolutely incredible. The shuttle service that picked us up at the train station and brought us to the hotel was seamless, setting the tone for an outstanding stay.

The customer service was exceptional—every detail was thoughtfully taken care of. The reception team, especially, was phenomenal. My fiancé coordinated with them to create a magical and romantic atmosphere after our engagement, and they truly delivered.

When I walked into our room, I was welcomed by the most stunning view of the Alps. The facilities were top-notch, and our room was perfect—so much so that there were days we didn’t want to leave because the view was simply breathtaking. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and every moment in the room felt special.

After the proposal, the team surprised us with beautiful flowers and chocolates in our room, which made the experience even more unforgettable. The breakfast was delicious, and the attention to detail was unparalleled. They even brought fresh fruit and left thoughtful treats like macarons in our room.

However, I would like to offer a small suggestion regarding the dinner experience at the restaurant. Unfortunately, the quality of the food did not meet the same exceptional standards as the rest of the hotel. We believe there is room for improvement to ensure that the dining experience matches the otherwise impeccable stay.

Chalet Hotel Schönegg made this special moment in our lives truly magical, and we deeply appreciate all the care and thought that went into our stay. I highly recommend this hotel and hope to return soon!

This was absolutely spectacular and I can wholeheartedly recommend!
I had reserved a table for my mom's birthday - in the reservation I just asked if it was possible to have a window seat for this special occasion. Fast forward to 8.30pm - we had a window seat and were treated magnificently!
We had an aperitif, the greetings from the kitchen (a delicious little Tarte), followed by our starters (a winter salad with tangerine and hazelnut, and a porcini mushroom soup - both
very well seasoned and aromatic), mains (ribeye steak for me and a salsify risotto for my mom - the meat was absolutely incredible and just as you would expect). The waiters were incredible, too! They always checked in on us at the right time, provided support with the wine selection and made us feel special. Given the late time of our dinner, we ended up as the last people in the restaurant but nobody rushed us and even when we ordered dessert they added a little happy birthday note to my mom's birthday who was absolutely smitten.
So, thanks for your support in making this the 'best and most beautiful birthday ever' according to my mom - we will be back!

Wonderful Zermatt Experience!  Hope to come back again and explore more.  The location and views cannot be beat.  The  hotel is so easy to get to and you walk through an amazing tunnel then take an elevator up about 200 feet above street level to get to reception for amazing unobstructed views of the Matterhorn.  The room was beautiful (pay extra and get a Matterhorn view).  The staff are all knowledgeable and very pleasant happy to help with hiking tips, restaurant recommendations.  The breakfast and dinners we ate at the restaurant were all excellent.  Go for it and splurge.  We also always love any hotel part of Relais and Chateaux.
