We stayed here when in Zermatt for a family wedding at a nearby resort. The location was perfect for us to the the lift up the mountain while also being in the town near to the shops and playgrounds and restaurants.
The hotel picks you up from the train station and will arrange your transfers. The breakfast had lots of choice and if you book direct you will get more included (hot menu items).

We had a fantastic meal the last night we were there with friends which was an extremely pleasant and reasonably priced experience, especially for Switzerland and Zermatt. If we were to return, we would stay here again. Our children (age 3 & 7) were very happy.

I’ve been coming to Zermatt for over 20 years and this is hands down one of the best hotels in town. The rooms are exquisite, the spa is awesome with an outdoor hot tub and saunas and steam rooms and the bar is great with live music every night. Very happy to be staying here.

The Alpenhof went above and beyond to make our stay memorable and comfortable. This was personally managed by Cindy Julen who is the pinnacle of hospitality. I've never been more impressed with the service of the management of a hotel. We have recommended to all our friends.

We loved everything about this property it begins as soon as you walk in… not only do you feel ‘welcomed’ by the staff, the decor, lounge/bar, restaurant is a great vibe.  The rooms are large (bedroom with a side sitting area), we had a balcony and a view of the Matterhorn.  The spa / jacuzzi we thoroughly enjoyed it in fact we’re trying to find the jacuzzi in the US so we can buy it!!!!! The property is located right ‘around the corner’ from the Main Street area which means it’s quiet and only a 5 min walk to the Gornergrat railway.  The icing on the cake was meeting Cindy the owner at dinner! Food and wine selection was fantastic but the conversation was even better!!!! All of us agreed, our only regret is we didn’t stay here longer!  For a point of reference I’ve stayed over 2,100 nights in hotels traveling for 30 years.  This one is a keeper!!!! Enjoy

I had the most delightful stay at Hotel Alpenhof! Every staff member we encountered was friendly and helpful. Lobby is quite cozy. The included breakfast is one of the best breakfasts we've had in any hotel stay, showcasing super fresh and plentiful selection. Our reservation included a 5 course meal every night that we took advantage of. Our room was so comfortable, with all of the amenities we could ever need. I loved our view of the Matterhorn when we stepped out on to the balcony. We highly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to book again for a future visit.
