After spending more time than I care to admit researching nearly every hotel in Zermatt, I’m so glad I chose Hotel Christiania. It exceeded my expectations in every way and made my time in Zermatt unforgettable.

The location is unbeatable—convenient yet tranquil, with easy access to everything the village has to offer. The staff were incredible: warm, welcoming, and so attentive that they made me feel at home from the moment I arrived.

The design and aesthetic of the hotel are flawless, blending modern touches with cozy alpine charm. My room was spacious, thoughtfully decorated with high-quality furnishings, and offered an unforgettable view of the Matterhorn that I’ll be dreaming about for a long time.

The spa was truly exceptional. Immaculately clean and beautifully designed, it provided the perfect place to unwind after a day outdoors. The attendants were attentive but never intrusive, and I appreciated that it was always peaceful and never felt crowded.

If you’re travelling to Zermatt this should be the place you stay. We had the most wonderful week thanks to all the lovely and helpful staff and the delicious food. Rooms are modern and very comfortable and the spa is the perfect place to relax after a day on the slopes. You have a gorgeous view of the Matterhorn from the room, dinner and even the pool. Our train was leaving at 6 in the morning meaning we would miss breakfast but they instead organised a beautiful packed breakfast and transport to the station. These added touches are definitely what sets it above the other hotels in Zermatt.
Special mention to all the staff especially reception and the lovely gentleman overseeing the breakfast service - you made our week!
We can’t wait to visit again.

100/100 would stay here again! We received the best service of our lives at the Christiania Mountain Spa Hotel. The hosts were extremely welcoming, very friendly, and helpful with any requests. The hotel itself is quite beautiful, very well kept, and extremely clean. The room itself (we booked a Double Panorama) was comfortable and spacious - they even have boot/shoe trays just outside of the room (in case you come back muddy from hiking)! The view speaks for itself. We could literally see the Matterhorn from our bed. Breakfast was decent and plentiful, with delicious croissants, scrambled eggs, pearl sugar waffles, and assorted fruits, cheeses, breads, and meats. They even had a literal honeycomb one of the days we were there! We went to the spa area just for the hot tub, which was great, so I can't speak to the rest of the spa (sauna area, etc.) but I can imagine with the level that everything else was in this hotel that it would be impeccable. Zermatt is a walkable town and we found the hotel to be within easy distance of everything we wanted to get to, including transportation.

We stayed 3 nights at the hotel in a panorama view room. I highly recommend staying here! The view of the Matterhorn from the room was epic! You can even see the Matterhorn from the restaurant and the pool/hot tub! Service was fantastic and all the staff were friendly and efficient. The restaurant was great, and the breakfast buffet was the best one we had from our 2 week trip to Switzerland. The location is great, a short walk into main town, gondolas, trains, etc. Free hotel shuttle from/to train station was appreciated. Highly recommended staying here!!
