We received a warm welcome for our dinner and had a good start with champagne and the first courses of the chef's choice menu. However, we began waiting more than other tables between courses. The main meat courses were good, but not out of this world. Also, the chairs were rather uncomfortable. The drink service was excellent and the cocktails were really cool! The desserts were excellent. The atmosphere was overall very pleasant and it was possible to talk without screaming over music. Overall a good experience.

I always wanted to return to Lindenhofkeller, now for a couple of years under new management 2 young Germans. Luckily I happened to be in Zurich on Wednesday, the only day open for lunch. Fresh and friendly atmosphere, the venison dish, sauerbraten style excellent, a creative amuse bouche and interesting wine list, where German wines predominate. The friendliness of Alex, responsible for the service, made the culinary moment even more stimulating and amazing.

One of the top upcoming restaurants!
The food was really amazing with a lot of local flavors but gourmet
The wine list was also pretty good
The interior is exceptional
The service was really fast but many times uncoordinated. Also the explanation of the dishes wasn’t consistently performed.
If both points above are improved it will get a Michelin star soon

My partner took me here for my wonderful birthday dinner. As we entered the staff were very welcoming. It was nice to see that they were actually laughing with the guests making the place feel quite homey.

We decided to order individual dishes instead of going with the tasting menu. The delicious pretzels were served with butter and a cheese spread, that - in a good way - reminded me of filthy cinema nacho cheese on steroids. The chicken liver was fantastic too and served with fermented walnuts, which was something neither of us had tasted before. We loved it!

Next came the beef bone marrow. The dish itself was good, however the sauce was quite acidic, which I felt took away from the comforting taste of the bone marrow.

The savoy strudel was great!

The suckling pig was a disappointing dish. So over salted even the inside meat made us fear for our kidneys and the sides served were rather underwhelming too, especially after having started on such a great foot. After we complained about this they were gracious enough to remove the dish from our bill, which we had not expected.

For dessert we went for the Bavarian yeast pastry served with impeccable vanilla ice cream and custard - another great dish.

As it was my birthday they had prepared a luxurious chocolate cake. We were too full to finish it by the end but is was truly delightful.

Before leaving my partner visited the men's lavatories, only to find a small bowl of condoms next to the sink. This certainly made for a good laugh as we left.

To summerise: I liked this place a lot - the staff was kind and gracious and upheld a lovely homey and cosy environment throughout our experience. Our main dish had clearly been over seasoned and we highly appreciated the way this was handled.

We will definitely be coming back!
