Tydligen var de tvungna att skicka ut någon för att köpa bröd Våra elnät kom redan innan våra förrätter gjorde... tillsammans med en arrogant och oförskämd Service pojke. Då var vi så upprörda att vi bara gick. Upplevelsen d kvällen innan på middagen, på The Modern var en sådan fantastisk upplevelse, vi antog att denna skulle vara likaså.

Onsdag 12 augusti - Kväll. Vi hade en underbar måltid. Jag åt vitlöksräkor och lammfärs. Båda var utmärkta. Läget är utmärkt men jag skulle också vilja berömma personalen. Dilan var vänlig och utmärkt på sitt jobb. Jag vill också nämna Sahina, som vi delade lift med när vi åkte. Båda dessa medlemmar av personalen var artig och naturligtvis trevlig. Inga falska beteenden. Jag hoppas att restaurangen uppskattar vilken tillgång både Dilan och Sahina är för dem.

Vi förväntade oss att hitta fina middagar enligt recensioner, men till vår förvåning maten de serverade först var inte bra, jag kunde inte tugga köttet; salladen hade ingen smak, så aptitretarna. Vi besökte restaurangen på vår sista kväll i Istanbul eftersom vi ville njuta av en speciell middag, och recensionerna ledde oss att förvänta sig en lämplig atmosfär i "La Terrasse Karaköy". Först och främst är utsikten fantastisk. Ljusen är mysiga och utanför är värmare med eld som också skapar en mysighet. Tyvärr är servicen långt ifrån vad vi har förväntat oss. Servitörerna var inte uppmärksamma, när måltiden serverades förklarades det inte (vi beställde signaturmenyn med många olika typer av mat). Tiden mellan rätterna var mycket lång och vi var inte med i processen (t ex om vi var redo för den andra rätten eller att desserten tog mer än 45 minuter). Vår biff var mycket tunn och överkokt. Måltiden var totalt sett inte mycket varmt - det verkade som om det satt i köket under en längre tid. Dessutom är det tillåtet att röka där inne eller att mata din hund PÅ bordet! Musiken var väldigt högljudd (som i ett disco). För oss är priserna alldeles för höga för upplevelsen.

Vid inträdet träffade vi Mahmet, ägaren av både taket och hotellet där det ligger. Medan vi hade inga reservationer, Mahmet införskaffade ett vackert bord på terrassen. Vi åt förrätter, både varma och kalla. Stora smaker och texturer. Taket erbjuder fantastisk utsikt över både den gamla staden och den bosforösa kanalen. Istambul är magiskt, särskilt på natten när moskéer, broar och viktiga byggnader är upplysta. När vi återvänder till Istambul (och det kommer vi att göra) kommer La Terrasse att stå högst upp på vår lista

Åt middag här för vår sista kväll i Istanbul. Hade läst andra recensioner som sa att det var svårt att hitta och det tog oss en stund att gå runt för att hitta den. När vi gjorde inställningen var mycket bra, härlig takterrass med fantastisk kvällsutsikt ut till Bosporen. Maten var härlig, förrätter och varmrätt var stor och öknen var mycket bra. Servicen var ok, de försökte verkligen hårt men inte riktigt fick det rätt. Priserna var rimliga, du betalar en premie för utsikten men vi visste det. Sammantaget en trevlig kväll och trevlig restaurang med en fantastisk utsikt.

Vi var lite skeptiska när en gentleman närmade oss på gatan och försökte få oss att besöka denna plats - men vi är SÅ glada att vi gjorde. En stor takterrass med superb välkomnande personal och sittplatser. Vi kom tidigt på kvällen, så ljuset var bra och vi kunde se vattnet och landskapet - det är en fantastisk utsikt på alla sidor. Vi beställde drinkar och sen mat. Drinkarna var utmärkta och maten, som kom strax efter, var något av det bästa vi hade i Istanbul. Den övergripande upplevelsen var utmärkt. Ett mycket välkomnande team, fantastiska drycker, utmärkt mat och en mycket bekväm miljö.

Hittade denna takrestaurang som vi stötte på när vi utforskade gatorna i Karakoy. Vi använde hissen för att gå upp till 7: e våningen och vid ankomsten fick en taktur på platserna. Menyn hade en mängd sheesh kebab, pasta alternativ och några fisk och skaldjur rätter. Förrätten var hummus och oliver med dipp serverade med ost med olika tillsatser av chili och valnötter. Varmt bröd gavs för att suga upp vinäger. De drycker som fanns tillgängliga var vanliga cocktails vin och sprit. Maten var trevlig men saknade smak. Personalen var artig och hjälpsam. Inställningen var stor och restaurang inredning och atmosfär särskilt bra.
