We absolutely loved it here.  We made a prior reservation for Sunday lunch.  The team gave us a very warm welcome, especially our dog, and made us all feel very special.  We sat in the conservatory with amazing views and it felt very cosy during a stormy weekend.  The food was amazing along with the seasonal cocktails which were divine.  It was the highlight of our weekend away and we thoroughly recommend it here for a special treat.  We hope to return when next in the Peak District.

We chose the Blind Bull for our anniversary. We had planned to go walking and then stay over. The walk was the main event, but unfortunately the weather was really bad so we had to cancel. We decided to stay anyway and are very glad that we did! Everything about the stay was amazing. The room was lovely with everything you would want. Plenty of space and very clean. Complete with its own Christmas tree.
It is the food in the restaurant though which really blew us away. It was excellent. We were not expecting fine dining but that is what we got. Breakfast was just as good. There was so many additional little touches that made the stay fantastic but it would spoil things to say! We will 100% be returning to do the walk and will be staying here.

Visited for dinner on a quiet Thursday night, however the restaurant was cosy, service was fantastic and the food was faultless. The waitress was particularly helpful in offering advice and recommendations on the menu. Thank-you for a wonderful evening

This review is for food. That said? simply superb! the surroundings are smart and modern, stone flagged to a high standard, the large conservatory gives the whole of the dining area a light and airy feel, while a 'through' stove heats the dining side and the lounge area. Views over the lovely derbyshire dales through any of the windows. There are only a couple of handpull ales on tap, but the blind bull session IPA is a worthy choice as well as Guinness being on tap plus several other well known and trusted beers, and a selection of wines. Lunch Menu is purposefully limited with some great choices available. I opted for the Scotch eggs with chilli jam starter, and my good lady chose the falafel on flatbread with deliciously pickled & zesty cucumber slice and feta Both thoroughly enjoyable. For mains, my wife went veggie for once choosing the cauliflower 'steak' with harissa. For me, it was skate wing with creamy mash and leeks. Skate was beautiful  cooked to perfection, both mains were spot on. As it was miserable outside and so pleasant inside, we extended our stay with desserts, both choosing the amazing Rhubarb and ginger trifle with tea & coffee. Not a thing I would change, a thoroughly enjoyable and memorable lunch. Thanks to all the hardworking and friendly staff for making it so!

Had a sunday roast here and loved it! We sat upstairs with a view of the kitchen, all dishes that were being brought out looked mouthwatering. We saw some negative reviews before coming but there’s nothing to worry about ☺️
