Party of 6 of us went to Winslade to celebrate my friends birthday, first off I must say we had a great evening. Few little things my  starter of poached egg on black pudding was very nice.. it did have bacon on the top which was not mentioned, my wife had the squid with aoili which was very much like butter (maybe that's there take on it), my fish coarse of sea bass was delicious, mains I had Duck with honey & 5 spice sauce..cooked perfectly, I ordered a side of potatoes rosti which arrived they were very similar to chunky chips, luke warm and very crunchy with a drizzle of truffle mayo (I should of sent them back, big didn't my bad) , wifey had the salmon fishcake topped with a soft boiled egg which she thoroughly enjoyed, one of our party had plaice which he loved, two others had the chicken breast which was good. The desserts were beautiful. I feel the dinning room lacks a bit of atmosphere in my opinion, in saying that the interior is very tasteful, the service was good, to sum up lots of good positive points but a few not so good which is why I gave the experience 4 instead of 5 stars.

Having been a regular at Winslade Manor since it opened, I’ve always found it to be ‘the’ place to go for amazing food, atmosphere and service. Over Christmas, we held a Charity Dinner for 40 people. To say the food was exceptional would be an understatement - the amount of positive feedback we got on the evening about the venue, food and staff was unreal. Thank you to the amazing team at Winslade Manor for smashing it yet again! 🙏

Perfect place for a dinner. Amazing food. Amazing location. I stayed at the Courtyard Exeter hotel and needed a place to eat. Did nit want to go in town and found this gem. I highly recommend to go. Hope to return one day.

Let's be honest here, Winslade is a treat for most , however it's normally well worth it in my opinion.
Staff are excellent, very helpful and always happy to assist with any questions.
The tables are well set out creating a good atmosphere but keeping yours private.
The food is normally 10/10 but on this occasion we did have an issue with one of the sharing platters.
The Pork was  undercooked and a little too much fat/ meat ratio plus the Duck wasn't brilliant, sorry to say it had the consistency and smell  of having been deepfried.
We didn't complain as the friends we were with didn't want to.
Unfortunately this was a Christmas meal, so a bit of a one off, still given past experience we will return, but maybe not go for the sharing platter.

Had an an amazing 4 course dinner from their Elegant Dining menu. Food was fantastic, with great portion sizes (didn't feel over charged) and a good selection. Service was attentive but not intrusive and the decor is beautiful. The only feedback I would give is that the dining room becomes loud and echoey when full (lots of effort put in to reduce this- soft furnishings and wall decor), so would benefit from the music being quieter and maybe more gentle compared to the bar to allow guests to converse. Not sure if it would also be nicer to only have Elegant Dining in the restaurant on a weekend evening and keep the Lounge menu in the bar area where people can wear more casual clothing to elevate the dining experience in the restaurant? Will definitely be back and can't wait to try the cocktail menu!
