Food is amazing.
If you want a great meal, cooked by what are clearly an experienced team of chefs then this is the place to go.  You absolutely get what you pay for.  My late father was a chef. Army trained so I'm a self appointed critic. Yep. Hands down some of the best gastro grub around.

It is not often I'm impressed  to this degree. This is a pub with rooms that is distinctly different. It oozes warmth and cosiness, with a vein of top quality service running right through it and the two are quite intoxicating!

We booked late, having returned from Spain and requested a booking for dinner, a room and the ability to bring our small dog. This was seamless and was handled exactly as it should be. We were greeted by smiles and a genuine welcome, nothing fake, nothing too much trouble. Our table was reserved by the fire as requested and an offer of help with our bags. The bar was beautifully run, its  tasteful country pub vibe draws you in.

The room we stayed in was very well put together, quality bedding, furnishings and muted colours gave an instant relax, toiletries with real essential oils provided, these are locally made and a big difference from off the shelf products provided by even the very best of hotels! No dog bed, cheap dog treats of waste bags were left, which was just refreshing! Not only did this room deliver luxury wise, it was well thought out and 'worked' needless to say it was immaculately clean,

The food.....well this was close to perfect, the steak one of the best I have had, cooked exactly right and the sauces were 'clever' rich but not too rich, just delightful! and the onion rings were the best I have tasted .  The smoked haddock omelette championed the wonderful quality fish that was used and the vegetable tart was beautifully made with a salad that complimented it perfectly. Breakfast delivers on the same level, too which is rare!!  Absolute class act of a gastro pub, thank you for the wonderful experience

Absolutely stunning food, best roast we've ever had. Every detail of flavour carefully attended to and well balanced. Good wine list too. Staff were lovely, friendly and helpful. Would go again in a heartbeat.

Thoroughly enjoyable evening at the Cornish Arms. Service was attentive without being irritating, food was super tasty, the environment was relaxed and conversation at the table was not overshadowed by background noise. This was my first time at the Cornish Arms and I am sure that I will return.  I had the vegan menu roast cauliflower which was delicious, following this with the vegan raspberry and granola desert. This was exceptional. A raspberry gel topped with toasted hazelnut granola sumptuous juicy raspberries and raspberry sorbet.  Others on my table had starters of scotch egg or wings and mains of chicken curry, ox cheek or belly and loin of lamb.  The sticky toffee pudding was the dessert choice of my companions.  A lovely way to pass a Sunday evening.

Great food and a relaxed atmosphere but the table service was lacking. We actually felt ignored between our main course and dessert and I had to go to the bar and ask for some service. The place seemed busy so is this a staffing issue or lack of orgsnisation?
