As a vegetarian who cannot eat dairy or gluten, my first trip to Hendersons was a delight! You could tell lots of effort went into the dishes and was great to feel like the gluten and dairy free options weren’t an afterthought - they were standout dishes.
I had 3 courses and all of elegant food made of flavours and combos I’ve not had for years in a restaurant! My non-vegetarian husband also loved his meal and said he really can’t wait to go back. And to top it off they were dog-friendly. Rosie was made to feel welcome with water and few biscuits and we got a great table for her. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to try some excellent vegetarian food!

Had high expectations for this place after seeing the reviews. Have to say that the food was good, but didn't fully live up to the hype. Nice variety, beautiful presentation and the staff are very welcoming. The atmosphere is good here, very chilled. Not the best veggie haggis I've had but it's still good. The carrot cake is the cutest I've ever seen, presented like a carrot in soil. It tasted delicious. Very clean and light for a cake! Didn't feel super heavy or sweet.

We had a fantastic meal - really first class.

The food was outstanding and the service excellent.

Next time I go, I'll ask for a table upstairs as downstairs was a wee bit quiet - but this wasn't a big deal.

Overall, our evening was a brilliant experience and I'll definitely be back next time we're in Edinburgh for a night.

The starter of "roasted beetroot, saffron pickled pear, chicory & rosemary truffle dressing" was absolutely brilliant.

My wife and I were very impressed with our experience at Hendersons. The service we received was polite, fun and attentive, to just the right level. We were made to feel very welcome.
The food was really, really nice and we couldn’t believe it was vegetarian. Highly recommend this place.
