Aaron was a fabulous guide. I had such a blast listening to his account of  the families that lived in these very difficult conditions. I had no idea. He brought the close life to life. The gift shop is amazing. You don't have to go on the tour to shop there. Go down Mary King's Close. Great staff all around.

This was a fun place to visit. The tour was interesting, and the guide was good at presenting the information. The jokes were terrible, but they made us laugh.
The tours book out quickly, so I strongly suggest pre-booking a ticket. There are different tours on offer throughout the year.
There is an excellent souvenir shop, which can be accessed without needing a ticket.
There are toilets inside the shop. They were in good condition.
No photography or recording is allowed inside the attraction. You have the opportunity to have a photo taken at the end, which you can then purchase. It was a bit pricey for what you got.
There is no wheelchair access to the attraction. The building is listed and can not be adapted to accommodate the necessary changes. There are a lot of steps, so it would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues.
Carers get free access, but you do need to provide proof of your role. There is a list of what they accept on their website.
There were audio guides in a variety of languages.
All the staff were friendly and helpful. The shop cashiers were kind enough to allow me to sit in the shop for a while as it had become very cold out and I was suffering.

Carl was a great guide (sorry if I got your name wrong!). His humor and little jump scares were great! We learned a lot from this tour. I was afraid it would be a bit gimmicky but it was super informative, engaging and fun! My husband who doesn't really like doing these things loved it as well! You get taken underground and see structures from centuries ago and hear the real stories of real people that lived there during various times.

I highly recommend this tour over the haunted or scary types. You'll learn cool things here.

A few things to note, you are not allowed to take pictures as you will be directly under a government building. You do have an opportunity to take a photo using their camera in a specific location and optionally purchase said picture starting at £15. There are a lot of uneven surfaces and low ceilings as most of this attraction is centuries old, with no building or fire codes enforced during those times. If you have mobility issues, there isn't much accommodation for you unfortunately due to the structure being original. If you can take the journey, please do! You'll be standing most of the time, but there is a part of the tour where you can sit down for about 5-10 minutes while the tour still continues.

Guides in different languages are provided if needed.

The staff gave excellent performances and made sure everyone was ready to start the tour.
Loved the gift shop with all the stuffy-fied fleas, rats, plague doctors and black plagues. Super cute!
They requested no pictures be taken during the tour, so all pictures are before and after.
