Stayed here whilst working in Warrington. The room was good, comfortable and spacious. No complaints there at all. The room was clean and the shower powerful so happy with that. Evening meal wasn’t great. Went for the fish and chips. Priced about the same as everywhere else, £17 ish I think. Fish was just soggy so left most of it.

Woken up the in the morning by the fire               alarm at 7. Lots of confusion but it was a false alarm. Slightly annoyed in that there wasn’t even a “sorry about that” just no comment at all when we then started an early breakfast. And then the breakfast. Bacon or sausage sandwich or omelette. That was it. Not what I was expecting at all.

In general, the hotel is nice enough in itself but I probably won’t stay there again. Just not for me.

It’s our second time coming here and our second negative experience.

Food: most of us had a roast dinner and the veg was from frozen, the roast potatoes were dry and hard. Some of our party said that the meat was dry also.

Service: while each time we’ve asked for the bill to be split between family’s as each time we’ve come as a large party for birthdays and family gatherings, they refused to do this. Okay, that’s fine. BUT, today the bill wasn’t adding up after we had all paid our portion plus tips. The manager asked for us all to show our bank statements to make sure we’ve all paid. It turned out that their systems was slow and one of our party’s payments wasn’t showing on their system yet. But I was absolutely shocked that someone asked to see my bank statement to make sure I’d paid. It was embarrassing and completely unprofessional. The manager was also being sassy with my partner when he wasn’t happy with us all being lined up to show our bank statements. That’s why we always suggest doing separate bills at the start to help with this nonsense.

Although the location is beautiful, we definitely wouldn’t be returning because of our past 2 experiences.

Enjoyed our evening meal. The staff - especially Alex - were very helpful and freely offered a range of smaller portion options for an elderly family member. A warm and genuinely friendly place to eat.

The food overall was good. The menu has some unique options such as pork roulade if you are looking for something you can't easily do at home. However, the ribs were overcooked and I have seen in other reviews that this is the case so I think it is only an issue with that dish.
In terms of the service our waitress was very accommodating and knowledgeable, but members of staff were gathering and chatting in between a doorway which had frequent foot traffic and it was a bit uncomfortable to walk in between them to get past.

We had a nice pub lunch here over a weekend day. The pie and chips was tasty and it wasn't too busy. Quite a chilled atmosphere as well which I like. Plenty of free parking aswell..
