Such a lovely place to wonder around and just sit for a while. Away from the hustle and bustle of the city this is a quiet place. Read of the people who died saving others. So beautiful and peaceful.

One of London’s secret oases amongst the thronging noise of the City. This is a very tranquil place and is beautifully laid out. The undoubted highlight is what must be the unique presence of a tableau of commemorations to those who lost their lives trying to save others. Almost all date to the 1890s and 1900s but they are written so simply but movingly it’s hard not to be affected all there years later. It’s a lovely homage to those who made these selfless sacrifices and on its own it makes this park worth visiting.

This is a lovely quiet and secluded park just round the back of St. Paul’s Cathedral. This is my go to destination to have my lunch when I have a walk around London. It’s beautiful in the summer when the flowers have all bloomed and it’s a little oasis in the middle of the City of London. The other reason I first visited was to look at some of the plaques and tributes on display under the covered area of people who have done something very heroic. Some of the stories are truly amazing and heart breaking. It’s a nice place to take a small family for a picnic as there is plenty of grass to put a blanket down. I would highly recommend a visit. I’ll be going back in May 😊
